We are both located in UK. We love travelling and meeting people from different cultures. There is something special about learning about other people’s lives and cultures.

Description

Hi we are Shelley and Liz. We first met at work nearly 20 years ago and have become firm friends, even travelling abroad together on a regular basis. Both of us live in Northampton UK. Whilst Shelley was born locally, Liz was born in Oslo, Norway to Norwegian mother and British father. The family relocated to the UK in 1989 to be closer to elderly grandparents. We are both very family and community orientated. Liz has one son, who is now 26 years old and a fellow explorer. Not a surprise as she started taking him abroad regularly from the age of 2. Shelley lives with her mum and cousin who she helped foster, when his mother could not look after him. She helped raise him from a young age and he is now a healthy happy young man.

More details about my language interests
Liz is bilingual and has always had a fascination for languages. She runs a Nordic Languages group, and has also got some experience of teaching English as a foreign language in a training course setting. Shelley is interested in learning different languages to basic communication standards.

We have both been involved in volunteering. Shelley organises a Christmas party for senior citizens in her local community. She also helps make hampers to donate to the most vulnerable in her village. She is used to running fundraisers, raffles and quizzes. She also organises children’s parties for special celebrations. She is an active trustee of a charity that provides financial support for parishioners in the local community.

Liz has raised funds and supplies on multiple occasions for Carriacou, a small island in the Caribbean. She organised the fundraiser and the logistics of getting the goods to the island. Liz also speaks five languages and has experience in teaching English as a foreign language. The languages are Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, German and English. Over the years Liz has also helped support younger children in improving their reading skills at school as well as supporting older children practice interview skills as part of preparation for work life.

We are both experienced at event organising and fundraising . Both of us are very friendly, flexible and easily intergrate and form good rapport with everyone we meet. We are hardworking and committed to help where it is needed.

What else ...

Liz loves to read in her spare time, and her favourite genre is psychological thrillers and murder mystery. She loves jazz and travelling. Her favourite game is UNO, and she is also a fan of monopoly and snakes & ladders.

Shelley is a keen gardener, and has just found her passion for this pastime. She loves music, especially Motown and soul. Shelley also likes painting and decorating and she has redecorated her house by herself.

Both of us a very social ladies who love spending time with friends and family.
