Born and raised in Seoul — have a love for nature, animals, and community living. I’m on a sabbatical to reconnect with simpler lifestyle. Always happy to help, learn, and share good energy!
My next destination:
Kanchanaburi, Thailand - from Jul 2025 until Jul 2025 View allDescription
Hi, I’m Chelsea from South Korea. (Seogyoung is Korean name)
I’m currently taking a sabbatical year to reconnect with myself, spend more time in nature, and experience community-based living through Workaway. After working in the tech industries for over 10 years, I realized I needed a lifestyle that felt more grounded, meaningful, and aligned with nature.
🌏 My Background & Personality
I’ve worked as a global business developer and project manager — including helping foreign startup founders launch businesses in Korea. I’ve met people from all over the world and loved helping them adapt, build, and thrive. This work taught me not only how to collaborate across cultures, but also how to listen, support, and stay open-minded in unfamiliar environments.
🧘♀️ In a Community
I’m someone who integrates well into shared environments. I’m respectful, proactive, and outgoing. I listen well, adapt quickly, and try to bring a peaceful, cooperative energy wherever I go.
Even after leaving previous jobs, I’ve stayed close with many of the people I worked with — which I think says a lot about how I show up in relationships.
🌻 Why I'm here
I’m not looking for luxury or ticking off destinations — I’m here for meaningful connection, honest work, and to re-ground myself through nature, rhythm, and real people.Interests

💪 What I Can Contribute
I’m confident with:
Gardening and weeding – I helped maintain a vegetable garden when I was young and feel very comfortable with outdoor physical work, even in hot weather.
Animal care – I live with two cats and love spending time with animals. I’ve fed, cleaned, and cared for animals and would love to give affection to all kinds.
Cooking and meal prep – I often cook for my family and myself, from grocery shopping to cleaning. I enjoy preparing simple, nourishing meals and keeping kitchens tidy.
Housekeeping – I’m naturally neat, organized, and proactive about keeping shared spaces clean and welcoming.
Supporting logistics or hosting – I’ve supported many events and group activities before, and I enjoy organizing spaces and helping people feel included.
🌿 Skills I’m Learning & Eager to Practice
Permaculture & regenerative farming – I’ve studied the basics and can’t wait to gain real-world experience.
Composting, natural building, eco-living systems – I’d love to learn by doing and observing.
Yoga & meditation – I’ve recently begun practicing and would love to be part of a host’s daily routines or simply learn from others.
Manual work – I’m new to building and maintenance, but I’m not afraid to get hands-on and take instruction seriously.Age

What else ...
I love meeting people from different cultures and have many international friends. I’ve also helped foreign entrepreneurs settle and build their businesses in Korea, so I understand the importance of communication, boundaries, and trust.
I exercise regularly so I have strong physical stamina and enjoy hours of active outdoor work. I’m not afraid of physical labor and actually enjoy the satisfaction that comes from it.
I’m an early riser by nature — I wake up before 7am every day without an alarm. I enjoy starting the day quietly and with intention, and I love morning tasks.
I'd love to share some meaningful moments — go somewhere together, share meals, and exchange stories. To me, Workaway isn’t only about tasks, but about connection too. Some more information
