I am Dirk from The Netherlands, I've worked in the UK videogame industry for the past two years. It was an interesting journey, but I am in much need of a sabbatical for 2025. I quit my job after several high-stress years where I've skyrocketed my career as a Lighting Artist in games. I yearn for some time away from my computer and in nature.

I am inspired by Martijn Dolaard who travelled the world by bike for two years and is currently creating his place in the Italian Alps. I hope to get some skills that will help me to live in nature, perhaps to create my own space one day.

Some of my hobbies/obsessions; are cycling,hiking, beach tennis, reading and the occasional videogame.

I am a relatively technical person who works in the game industry as a lighting artist. I am also a hobby photographer.

I know little about gardening or building, but I've always helped my parents during their building projects. They've made several apartments to rent out. I don't mind doing some heavy lifting, I have been carrying around heavy materials since I was very little.
