From London originally , now living in countryside. I enjoy seeing places from a different perspective. Currently semi retired, returned from 3 months travel in Asia & Australia last year, after my partner retired.
I enjoy the contrasts of energy of the city and peace of countryside.
Since finishing work I have helped a few friends recently with cafe / hospitality businesses on an adhoc basis. Very happy on anything front of house dealing directlty with customers but equally ok with accommodation changeovers,cleaning etc.
I'm happy doing gardening and weeding, some walling, ok at painting walls, cooking, cleaning and housework.Comfortable with animals and very happy dog walking or sitting - we had our own dog for 15 years.
At home I enjoy all kinds of live performance and have written and produced theatre plays. I am pretty sociable, enjoy conversation, whilst respecting others space; not everyone wants full on company all the time. I also like walking , hiking, & music. My Workaway account is linked on here with my husband's. We have kept them as indviduals , as we are open to short single trips as well as travelling mainly together.
l am a native English speaker but enjoy practising Spanish and learning basics of other languages. I have previously qualified in and taught TEFL in Spain & the UK some years ago - happy to help with English language exchange.
Full driving licence.
Professional skills include presentations, marketing. IT, & hosting webinars.
Reliable, responsible and fairly self reliant but I like to laugh and do have a sense of the absurd.
I know people live busy busy lives and may have lots of enquiries on here! However, I also believe in mutual respect as part of the Workaway ethos, so I really appreciate if a host take times & shows courtesy answering my message in a few days - even if it's a one liner saying " thanks but not at the moment" 😀
