  • Description

    Hi, I'm Eddie :)
I began traveling early 2024, my life has gotten so much cooler since then, and I've gained a lot of clarity in what I want to do with my life. quick run down; Travel for the next 4-6 years, doing workaways and random side quests along the way then hopefully after that I've found my wife and we start a family on a farm or something lol.

It began in March when I began the Pacific Crest Trail hike from Mexico to Canada. That trip showed me what freedom feels like, and I had such a great time making friends and spending so much time in some jaw dropping nature. During that trip I came to understand that I only have this one life, so I should enjoy it as much as possible.

Once I got back, I resumed my work at a bronze art foundry, a job that suited me well and I enjoyed, but I knew I couldn't keep living the same way as I had before. After one week I told my manager that I'm sorry but I have to keep traveling, and luckily we get along well and he understood completely so I was able to leave that job on good terms with everyone there.

A week after that I was on a flight to Japan to backpack around the country, where I'm currently writing this description from. This trip is also going incredibly well, it's been a good mix of me walking in peaceful nature, spending time alone and then socializing and meeting people when I get to cities.

After that trip in Japan I've now done two workaways and they were both amazing. I enjoyed the work in both places and met a bunch of great people, which I'm now making a hitchhiking trip out of meeting back up with them around Europe.

As for how I am as a person, I think I'm okay haha. In general it seems like people don't regret having met me, I made a bunch of new friends just this year while traveling so I must be somewhat likeable I hope.

Apologies if this description is far too long, I wasn't sure how detailed I should get. I hope it all gives a pretty good idea of who I am and inspires you to accept my request to stay with you lol. Thanks :)

Of course it'll be for you to judge, but I'd say I'm a hard worker, and as proven by my hiking I'm able to sustain physical exercise for 14+ hour days. It's fair for me to say I'm very patient and I've got good stamina lol. Working at the bronze foundry taught me how to use power tools, weld, lift heavy stuff and just be generally competent with manual labour. I can vouch for myself pretty confidently to be a good worker.

  • What else ...

I wrote a whole bunch in the description so I'll keep it short lol. Before I began traveling my main hobby was Boxing and a little bit of MMA. I've had a few amateur fights, it's great fun. I'm still an avid watcher of the UFC, though I train a lot less now.
In America I got into climbing and now bouldering is my favourite hobby, I'd love to get good at climbing.
I love music, in particular Metal/Grunge.
I used to spend way too many hours being a gaming nerd but now I'm basically done with that lol.
I've decided to start reading way more, seems like that'll be good for my brain and make me more cultured.

My Instagram is @eddieharding_ if you want to see pictures of places I've been :)
