Description
Hello!
I am a life-lover, plant nerd, and curiosity-driven soul looking to build community and deepen my relationship with Earth. Herbalism has become my passionate focus – I recently completed a community herbalism course at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, where I live. Currently, I'm expanding my hands-on knowledge through an internship at Innisfree Farm in Courtenay. It has been so refreshing and nourishing to be volunteering in nature again.
From 2021-2022, I travelled for a year as a work-trader, primarily through Workaway! This journey led me through volunteering at a jungle farm in Hawaii, a Maui hostel, a treehouse eco-sanctuary in Brazil, an Airbnb on Lake Como, a hostel in Portugal, and culminated in a loooong cherished walk on the Camino de Santiago with a best friend. These experiences abroad blessed me with diverse learning opportunities and beautiful friendships that I remain grateful for.
Now, I'm enjoying being ~mostly~ settled at home in a community house with dear friends. My current intention with Workaway isn't to travel far (though life has its surprises!) but to find local opportunities where I can continue learning about gardening, permaculture, and especially herbalism. I've fallen deeply in love with the physical work of tending plants and soil, and want to keep this connection alive in my daily life. Being around medicinal plants also provides powerful encouragement for self-study.
Beyond herbalism, my interests take many directions! Movement brings me joy – dancing alone or with friends lights me up, walking barefoot in the forest, and practicing Qigong and Yoga. I love sewing, hiking, reading, web design, photography, cooking, baking, and generally approaching each day with playfulness and experimentation.
I'm open to day visits close(ish) to home, or 1-3 week stays somewhere further away. Thank you for taking a moment to read this, take care!Interests

More details about your skills
When it comes to gardening, my biggest skill is my enthusiasm, curiosity, and desire to learn. Working with plants is new to me, but since interning at Innisfree I've been growing my confidence in the garden and with many different farm tools. I've been wheel-hoeing and weed-whacking my lil heart out!
Beyond the garden, the kitchen is one of my favourite creative spaces. I love cooking and baking, and living in a large community home has developed my skills in preparing meals for groups. Incorporating medicinal plants into my food has become such a delight! (Lemon balm pesto, anyone?)
Some other skills are...
- Sewing magic! I can mend torn favourites and love to create new treasures from thrifted fabrics and scraps.
- A peaceful, positive presence! My general life outlook and background in mindfulness helps me stay grounded and positive, even on challenging days.
- Animal whispering! I grew up with pets and love creatures of all sizes, especially horses, having built relationships with them over many years.
- Child at heart! I get along really well with kids and love to be silly. I spent last summer babysitting for a few families!Age

I volunteered here for about two months, working mostly with Mari's horses and organizing her library.
