Hi I'm Fay, a 28-year-old creative from the UK, currently living and working in New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa. After settling at the top of the South Island for a while, I'm soon hitting the road again, eager to explore Aotearoa’s stunning landscapes and vibrant communities.

I love meeting new people, building meaningful connections, and embracing my adventurous spirit while learning new skills along the way. I'm especially drawn to the local stories that make each place unique, so I’m excited to take part in Workaways where we can share experiences, exchange stories about life in New Zealand, and swap recommendations for must-see spots!

I want to learn from the people I meet and learn at the places I work at and so am eager to contribute to a worthy cause and make some meaningful connections along the way :-) I'm particularly interested in Workaways centred around sustainability, community, spirituality & creativity.

As a creative soul, I'm passionate about art, design, nature and the role these play in connection to our wellbeing and sense of self. I've got plenty of experience working with kids including leading and assisting with creative workshops and babysitting. When I'm not being creative, I like to spend my time exploring nature hiking and camping, this is where I feel most at home! I love the communal sharing of food and am very happy to help with cooking and baking as well as cleaning, painting and other household tasks. I have a driving license. At a series of previous in NZ I have painted murals which I loved so if you have any signage that needs creating, I’d love to get involved! I like being around people who share the same values I have. I am open minded and always keen to learn new skills and try new things, so if you need an extra pair of hands or want to hang out, give me a shout.

Child Care: I really enjoy working with kids and have 3 years of babysitting experience. Whether it's coming up with fun creative activities or ensuring the kids have a safe and comfortable environment to play in, I always want to make sure children are happy and engaged.

Art/Design/Photography: As a freelance illustrator, I have 4 years experience working with a range of clients creating engaging artwork. From branding illustrations for local cafes to community painted murals for schools, illustrated covers for magazines or artworks for a start up's website. I believe that art has the power to tell stories and bring ideas to life, and I'm always looking for new and creative ways to showcase that!

Content Creation: I have 3 years experience as a Social Media Manager at an arts agency and found working with a wide variety of artists really fulfilling! Whether it's blog/email writing, photography, administrative tasks or website management, I'm confident in my ability to create engaging and meaningful content that resonates with audiences.

Outdoors & Gardening : As a regular sea swimmer, avid hiker, and occasional gardener, I love spending time in nature and this is definitely where I feel most at home. Being outdoors is good for the soul and I'm really eager to find work on garden/nature/outdoors based projects/home stays. I have experience gardening including (planting / mowing / weeding / raking / helping with landscaping) and growing some of my own vegetables!

Cooking/Household: I love the idea of bringing people together through food, and cooking is one of my favorite ways to do that! Keeping a clean and organised living space is important to me and I am very happy to help with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal prep and house DIY.

Driving: I hold a valid driver's license.

Events: I'm currently working backstage at an arts venue, which means I'm no stranger to the hustle and bustle of fast paced events! From greeting guests to setting up for shows, I enjoy connecting with others :-)

Animal Care: I love working with animals and have personal experience looking after dogs, cats & guinea pigs.

Me: I'm a kindhearted, open-minded and easy going people person who very much enjoys learning new things. I'm really excited to be a part of this experience in New Zealand and can't wait to share my skills with you & most importantly have some beautiful experiences along the way!
