  • Description

    Sofia (my nickname is Fia):
Freedom, in all its forms, has always been my biggest inspiration. For me, traveling is a way to feel that freedom, connect with people, and understand myself a bit better with each new experience. My dad taught me a lot about personal responsibility and independence, which is probably why I felt ready to explore Europe on my own at 18. That adventure taught me to trust my instincts, stay confident, and appreciate different perspectives. With every trip, I feel like I’m becoming more of the person I want to be.

After finishing the IB program in high school, I was craving new experiences, so I set off across Europe, especially excited to dive into French culture. Wandering through the streets of Nice and Paris, tasting pastries, and speaking French felt like pure magic. My travels weren’t just a sensory adventure—they were also a chance to learn. I took a psychology course at Cambridge, exploring how the human mind works, and in Germany, I explored Potsdam’s beautiful landscapes and made unforgettable memories with a dear friend.

These experiences helped me make lifelong friendships and gave me a broader view of the world. I’m really grateful for the growth and the connections, and they’ve taught me to approach life with curiosity, empathy, and a sense of wonder.

Before diving into pastry arts at Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa, I had a pretty diverse career journey. I started out as a receptionist and general assistant at a clinic, where I learned a lot about organization and connecting with people. Then, while studying for my Pastry Diploma in Canada, I worked at a local bakery. Being around skilled bakers and pastry chefs sparked an even deeper love for pastry-making.

Eventually, I decided to come back to Mexico, where I took on a role as a Pastry Chef at a local bakery. This job lets me blend my creativity with my skills while staying close to my roots. From clinic receptionist to pastry chef, each step has shaped me into a dedicated professional with a passion for making delicious, memorable pastry experiences.

    Small update: (September 2024)
Obed and I have been volunteering at a hostel in Bucharest, Romania since September and it has been an incredibly transforming experience. We help travelers worldwide have a wonderful experience while immersing themselves in the heart of Bucharest.

    Obed (My nickname is Obed)
My biggest inspiration in life is change. Throughout my life, I've been known as someone who changes a lot weekly, monthly, yearly, I am a shapeshifter. As of now, I'm an undergraduate, particularly in international business. At the age of 18, I had achieved a perfect A+ or 100 in a whole semester having at the same time a full operational pizzeria with 5 employees.

Having achieved a dream that only a few accomplish at a young age, left me with a profound sense of emptiness, and realized life is not all about checkpoints that society expects you to do. Having said that, after one year and a half, I sold my shares.

As I delved deeper into the complexities of theories and topics of my career, I couldn't help but feel a disconnect between the materialistic pursuits of the world and the deeper, more intrinsic desires of the soul.

But then, amidst the chaos of my existential crisis, I stumbled upon a revelation that would change the course of my life. It wasn't about the destination, about reaching some arbitrary checkpoint set by society. It was about the journey itself, about the countless moments of growth and transformation that shaped who I was becoming.

Now, I embrace the beauty of change, knowing that it is not the destination that defines me, but the journey itself.
