Description
Hello! My name is George, and I am from a small farming community in Wales. I recently finished a degree in biology and conservation, and I want to continue travelling, learning new things, and working worldwide, which I am very passionate about! I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work and study in several countries through work away and other jobs (Alaska, Greece, South Africa, Australia, France, Italy). I am passionate about languages and am trying to learn multiple new ones in my spare time :). I hope you enjoy my profile!

More details about your skills
I have a lot of experience in farming, having grown up on a small farmstead where we had sheep, pigs, chickens, and a lot of dogs, alongside an organic garden. When I turned 18, I moved to Australia for a year, where I worked as a farmhand/labourer for a 5000-hectare cereal and sheep farm. I have experience in fence building, general maintenance, construction, and a lot of gardening experience. I used to maintain and help with gardening and caring for farm animals for the local community growing up. At one point, I also worked for a pheasant shoot, where my tasks included general labour, fencing, animal care and land management.
I have spent 3 stints as an au pair, having spent 4 months in Rome looking after three children and 2 summers near Bordeaux looking after 2 children. During these stints, I was responsible for the children, teaching them English, helping them ensure their homework was done, cooking meals for them, and helping them have as much fun as possible! My role in France went beyond looking after kids, as I was responsible for the gardening/maintenance and renovation of the disused chateau I found myself in with the au-pair family. In France, I was also sometimes a stable boy, helping to care for and manage several family racehorses when the father was travelling for work. In order to have worked with children I have an enhanced DBS check certtificate (UK background check). In the UK I have worked as a childrens entertainer, working for a company called Sharky and George! give them a google to see what kind of work it is, as its quiet hard to explain!
During my degree, I did a year of study abroad in South Africa, where I learned biology, French, and archaeology at the University of Cape Town!
I have a full UK driving licence and experience driving many vehicles, including, but not limited to, Motorbikes, tractors, combine harvesters, lorries, trucks and trailers, mini-diggers and ATVs. I also have skills in power tool use, including chainsaws, and some welding experience. My father's second job is as an antique dealer, so when I'm home, I help him with that business. Therefore, I have some experience in antiques, mainly British mid-century furniture.
I have done multiple Workaway style experiences in my life (through websites such as Aupair World and WWOOF), including:
- Cleaned at a yoga studio in Melbourne
- Au paired France and Italy
- Organic farming in South Africa
- Sled dog Care in AlaskaAge
