    We both live in the north west of the UK, Veronica in Manchester and Gillian 20 miles north of Manchester in Lancashire.

  • Description

    We, Gillian and Veronica, met when we worked together as college lecturers many years ago. Now that we are both retired and our children are grown up we've decided to team up and go adventuring. First stop - Australia.

    We both like gardening, meeting new people and hearing about lives, experiencing new cultures and the world, we like exploring, walking, nature and are very open to general home maintainence, gardening, permaculture, eco-projects, etc.animals, pets

    Here are the skills we can offer:

    Garden maintence, eco and permaculture projects, organic gardening.
    General Maintenance & DIY: Fairly experienced in hands-on projects and repairs.
    Animal Care: Most of our lives we have owned dogs but had or helped with other animals including chickens and horses.
    Eco-Project Support: We are keen to support and work on these.
    Housework & Cooking: We are skilled in managing household tasks, planning and preparing healthy vegan meals; we are also happy to clean, organise cupboards, freezers, garages/lofts, sell things online or otherwise, shop locally and online.
    IT Work & Social Media Promotion: Gillian and Veronica met when they used to teach IT and have experience in social media promotion, and other digital tools, photography etc - we can help you organise your computer files too.
    Knitting, sewing, crocheting - Veronica runs a craft group with refugee women in Manchester.

    Gillian is a retired lecturer and educational IT professional. Veronica is also a retired lecturer and has worked in many other areas including the airline industry, road haulage and owning an antique shop.

    We strive to live ethically and as environmentally conscious as possible.We are deeply committed to justice—social, environmental, and economic—and bring our enthusiasm and dedication to projects that align with these values.

    We have both travelled a fair amount and enjoy experiencing diverse cultures. This will be our first Workaway experience. We land in Australia on 17th February for 4-6 weeks and are looking forward to the whole adventure.
