Description
Hello! Our names are Hadley and Mazzen. We are adventurous and loving souls hoping to explore even more of the world, complete honorable work, and meet locals through Workaway. We are open-minded, caring, hard-working, and have a huge desire to learn new things. Here are some details about how we function and thrive, along with work experience!
Hadley:
I love independent and group work, provided that the group dynamic is respectful and communicative. I like to think of myself as a leader with a passion for education and inspiring others to pursue their dreams. In everything I do, I try to be ethical and to promote the well-being of all humans. I am an adrenaline seeker that loves to stay busy. At this point, I have been to over 38 countries and all 50 of the United States. My goal is to travel even more of the world while developing my online business to its potential, along with maintaining my 100% remote part time work as a project manager. I grew up on a large-scale farm in the United States. I became familiar with the physical labor and problem-solving used to help with machinery and everyday tasks on the farm. As a result of my background, I still enjoy hands on work. Since my time there, I have completed a Master's of Education with a focus in Chemistry. I have taught high school Chemistry for 3 years, along with teaching English to Chinese students online. I resigned as a high school teacher and am looking to put all of my efforts into traveling, growing my travel planning business online, and accomplishing new skills through Workaway.
Mazzen:
I am from Brazil where the people are friendly, hard-working, and life itself is a party. I enjoy connecting with people and using my strengths to help provide support and care. Community is everything to me. I feel my best in nature, especially with animals around. I have a big heart, immense gratitude for the earth, and like to make people feel welcome. Learning new things and sharing new experiences with others is my favorite part about traveling and I always look forward to more. In addition, I am passionate about physical strength training and have been craving manual labor and expanding my skill set with both building / design and gardening in sustainable ways.
A few of my strengths are animal care combined with dog training, community building, teaching English as a second language, customer service, personal assistant work, cleaning, cooking, and childcare.
I was a personal assistant and caretaker of children for the last 10 years and in the last year have made the transition into traveling full time and working as a virtual medical assistant. Let’s grow together!
Workaway would give us the opportunity still work online while learning new skills from others. It will also help us pursue our dreams of traveling the world, meeting new people, and expanding our knowledge of different cultures. We look forward to meeting you!

Professionally, I have experience with teaching English and would be honored to do so again. The greatest of my experiences was my time with VIPKID, teaching English to Chinese students, while I was a high school teacher. I excelled due to my experience with assisting students learning a second language. Personally, I hope to learn language for as long as my brain will allow me to. In college, I studied French and absolutely adored learning in both the classroom and in my travels/work. I am very comfortable using French in my everyday life and would like to grow with my Spanish. While I was living in Mexico, I have really grown with understanding Spanish but would like to improve with generating responses. I am honestly open to any languages available to me!

Hadley: I have a strong background in education, specifically science and English education. I have worked for an educational nonprofit with a base in Haiti, taught children science at a summer camp at a museum, mentored refugees in the US, and been a live-in nanny for 3 amazing children in the US as well. As a result of playing volleyball on a full-ride scholarship in college, I am very skilled at working in and leading groups. My best asset is that I am an ambitious and confident learner and love getting my hands dirty. I truly believe I can grow in any skill and if I need help, I am not afraid to ask clarifying questions until I understand. Above everything, I am resourceful to grow no matter what!
Mazzen:
I have a great deal of experience with animals rescuing and fostering animals as well as assisting with in home dog training. I am passionate about the rehabilitation and care of vulnerable animals. I also value community and believe it is a skill to connect with people the way I do. I especially enjoy connections where we can learn from each other and share life experiences. I take direction well and speak up when I need more clarification!
Administratively, we are both incredible with organization. Hadley is especially great at design as a project manager. We care about the rights of humans and Hadley has assisted with many events through their current job. Hadley is very creative as a performance artist and able to harness this creativity for work.

What else ...
Hadley:
In the United States, I have been a performer and dancer and am excited to continue to grow as an athlete wherever I may be. I enjoy art, competitive games, traveling whenever I can (All 50 states in the US and 38 countries thus far!), exploring food and mocktails, understanding nature and cultures more, and healing through psychedelic experiences. I'm very excited to return to Workaway!
Mazzen:
I greatly enjoy the efforts I am passionate about and work remotely online as a medical assistant for an endocrinologist. It is part time work that I hope to work around in terms of scheduling! I enjoy a variety of things from rock climbing, manual labor, cleaning, cooking, and animal care. I am eager to learn and help and pick up things fast.
We also travel with our rockstar of a cat who would be joining us on our adventures. She is indoor/outdoor and such a special guest.
