Hi, I'm Hanka, a spirited Slovak adventurer with a passion for mountains, forests, and the great outdoors. Nothing fuels my soul quite like exploring new places, meeting new people, and immersing myself in different cultures. Whether I'm scaling mountains, wandering through forests, or traversing new landscapes, I'm always in awe of the beauty and wonder that our world has to offer.

In my current job, I'm fortunate to have partial flexibility and possibility to travel while working remotely, allowing me to make the most of every opportunity for exploration and personal growth. But amidst my love for travel, I've come to realize the importance of sustainability. That's why I've chosen to let go of my apartment in Bratislava and opt for a more nomadic lifestyle, staying with my family, friends, or abroad.

Workaway seems to be a great fit to my current life journey, offering me the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures, learn new skills, and contribute to communities around the world. I'm thrilled to embark on this adventure, where every encounter is a chance to grow, learn, and find 'home' in unexpected places.

While my proficiency in German has waned over time, I've recently embraced the challenge of learning Spanish, adding another layer to my linguistic repertoire. As a Slovak native, I've seamlessly integrated English into my daily life, thanks to my work in an international company and extensive travels. While my proficiency in German has waned over time, I've recently embraced the challenge of learning Spanish, adding another layer to my linguistic repertoire.

Other Skills:
With a background in academia, I've spent years teaching economics, accounting, and insurance at the university level, both during and after my PhD studies. Additionally, I've shared my expertise in English grammar through private lessons, even from my teenage years.
Growing up in a village instilled in me a deep appreciation for gardening and farming, particularly with staples like potatoes and cabbage, integral to Slovakian cuisine. While my current urban lifestyle may not provide the same opportunities, I still find pleasure in DIY projects like painting walls and laying tiles to assembling IKEA furniture and even cooking. Cooking is the activity which I do not do so often recently, that’s why I put even more love to that activity than before. Whether it's preparing a cozy meal for friends or whipping up pancakes for breakfast, I infuse each dish with love and creativity.
With my 15+ working years expertise in economics, finance, and administration, I'm always ready to offer assistance, whether it's with budgeting, Excel wizardry, or navigating the intricacies of the business world.
But life isn't just about work and chores. I relish spending time with my niece and nephew (10y & 3y), whether we're embarking on outdoor adventures or enjoying quiet playful moments indoors.
