My name is Henry Compton. I’m 23 years old and I am an artist from the United States of America. I draw children’s books, comics, and cartoons. My inspiration for most of my art comes from my real-life experiences. I believe that the more diverse my life experiences are, the better my art becomes, so I’m always searching for new adventures in life.
I love all things that are in nature. I’m an outdoorsy type of person who loves hiking, camping, and stargazing. I’m fascinated with other people’s lifestyles, so I love meeting new people and learning all about them. I’ve never been a big fan of sight-seeing, I prefer to fully immerse myself into another person’s culture and live alongside them as if I were a local.
I love both the quiet rural life as well as the bustling city life, and I have experienced both. I grew up swimming and boating in a small town on the coast of Rhode Island in the USA, then I moved to Los Angeles when I was 18, where I lived for 3 years. After a summer road tripping across the entire USA, I went to Switzerland for a 3 month farm stay Workaway.
The farm in Switzerland was very remote, up on a mountain away from any major roads. At the farm I built fences, fed and cared for livestock (sheep, cattle, horses, and dogs), I helped with the upkeep of the barn, I did gardening, I hiked, I skied, and I had lots of fun. Long hours of sweaty, backbreaking work made my evening’s home cooked meals that much more delicious.
I have lived in the city of Boston for the past 2 years, and now I’m ready for another adventure. After years of city living, I’m craving to get back into the natural world and back to working with my hands. I want to slow down my pace of life, to spend my days carrying firewood, and my nights in quiet reflection and creating art.
I can help you out in many different ways from cleaning, to painting, to yarkdwork, to animal care, and many more. But most importantly, I am interested in learning new skills and meeting new people. I will help out in any way that I can to the best of my ability.Interests
