** We decided to spend a few months in Italy, from April to September, to explore the country through its people, for Hugo to learn Italian, and for Polly to reconnect with the place where she grew up. We already had 2 workaway experiences, doing gardening, house cleaning, handiwork, form April to June. We're now looking for a workaway between the 22th and 30th of June.**

Hugo is a dreamer who loves going to the movies, he studies space engineering and has recently started learning Italian. Polly is a nature enthusiast who always finds a way to spend time in a park with her friends, she plays the guitar and enjoys hiking. She is pursuing a master’s degree in public law. We both grew up in the countryside - Hugo in Ploeuc-l'Hermitage, Brittany, France, and Polly in Montebelluna, near the Italian Dolomites.

We are both sensitive to issues relating to the protection of nature and animals, which is why we have chosen to be vegetarian. We are two open-minded individuals with a deep curiosity for subjects like philosophy, literature, and the ways people perceive the world around us. Having lived in Paris for two and four years respectively, we have been immersed in its vibrant cultural scene.

At 20, Polly set off alone on an interrail adventure across Europe, exploring the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy. More important, through her journey, she met one of her closest friends. As for Hugo, he hitchhiked across France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Hungary with a friend, collecting unforgettable encounters and memories along the way.

I would love to learn Italian (Hugo) and it's actually one of the reasons we chose Italy for our WorkAway experience. Polly and Duolingo have already started teaching me the basics.

Both : We are fluent in French and English, and Polly, whose native language is Italian, effortlessly switches between languages. We have several years of experience in catering for events like weddings and celebrations. Serving dozens of guests under pressure taught us efficiency, attention to detail, and, most importantly, the art of keeping a smile no matter the circumstances.

Hugo : I am a handy person since my father is a cabinetmaker who taught me how to build a timber frame, how to handle tools with precision and much more. I also have some knowledge of electricity and I love working with my hands. Over the years, I have taken part in potato harvesting at my grandparents’ farm many times.

Polly : I spent my childhood between my Italian grandparents’ vineyards and vegetable garden, where she would spend hours helping with the grape harvest and growing vegetables. I love taking care of children of all ages, and I am fond of animals, mostly dogs ! I love taking care of them.
