Description

Hi, my name is Scott Levers. Along with my wife, Ingrid Ermanovics, we will be on a self-funded leave starting in September 2024. We are a fun-loving, active, energetic couple who loves people, nature, animals, hiking and travel. As teachers we've worked over nearly 30 years with youth for decades to support their learning, sport/club activities and leadership to build stronger relationships and communities, all with a lot of patience and humour. We've lived and worked multiple times in Africa, Europe and across Canada. We believe that the more connected we all are in the world, the better.

We are hoping to be able to find an experience where we can meet local people and other travellers, remain active and enjoy and work in nature, including animal care.

We have been teachers and community volunteers for over three decades. We have mainly taught mathematics, science, physical education, and French. We have taught in three Canadian provinces, two African countries and in the Netherlands. With our two children, now 23 and 24, we have travelled and taught extensively through Europe and Africa.

We consider ourselves handy people. Scott can use power tools and small tractors. He has designed and built various projects ranging from shelving to decks to sheds. He can do basic automotive maintenance like oil and tire changes. Scott has also been a Google Certified Educator and is confident in his use of technology. Ingrid is an avid gardener whose green thumb has created several beautiful gardens around the homes we have lived in. We pride ourselves on leaving the places we have lived in better condition than when we arrived.

We are active people. Scott currently plays ice hockey, golf and does yoga. Ingrid enjoys running and weight training. We enjoy nature and love to hike and have done so throughout Europe, Africa and Canada. Throughout our careers, we have coached several teams in several sports such as volleyball, ice hockey, cross country running, badminton and kayaking.

We are very flexible, caring people who are always seeking out new adventures. Our ability to adapt to new situations and surroundings has allowed us to experience a multitude of opportunities. Our core values include personal relationships, environmental sustainability, helping others and building stronger communities. These values open us up to new situations where we can use our experiences to learn new things and create new and lasting connections.
