Description
We are a Swedish/American retired couple looking for a host where we can work for 2-3 weeks.
We love to spend time outdoors and when we are not working around our home, we like to go sailing, biking, hiking and canoeing both in Sweden and abroad.
At our cottage in Southern Sweden, we have a big vegetable garden and a few small greenhouses which makes us almost self-sufficient in vegetables. One of us has worked as a groundskeeper at large estates in the United states and also has an education in botany. Wherever we have lived, we have made sure that we have had a place to grow vegetables, and we have always liked to give family and friends a hand with their gardens and groves.
The growing season where we live is not very long, so we are looking to extend the season by going south. This way we hope to combine two of our big interests: travelling and gardening. Learning from others who perhaps live from their land and sharing a home and meals with people from the country we travel to sounds really exiting for us. We have done several trips on sailing vessels with groups of people (5-15 in the crew) where we have enjoyed getting to know new people and sharing a week or two with them.Interests
