  • Description

Hi there! I’m Jeongeun (or you can call me Julia!), from Seoul, the capital of South Korea. I’ve always had a big love for nature, people, and meaningful adventures. Some friends describe me as the sunshine in the group — cheerful, warm, and always ready to help or make someone smile.

I was born and raised in Korea, and in 2024, I took my very first working holiday trip to Australia. It was such a beautiful and fulfilling experience — working, traveling, and meeting people from all over the world. It opened my heart and mind in many ways.

Of course, simply visiting new places is exciting — but for me, the most meaningful part of traveling is living alongside local people and truly experiencing their language, culture, and everyday life. Now, I’m getting ready for my next journey: Canada! I’ve recently been approved for a one-year Canadian working holiday visa, and this time, I’d love to volunteer, connect with locals, and share life together in a meaningful way.

One of my biggest goals is to keep improving my English, but not just through study — I want to learn through real conversations, shared meals, and cultural exchange. I believe that sharing daily moments, learning through real connection, and giving a helping hand in return is what makes travel unforgettable. That’s why I’m not just looking to pass through — I want to join in, contribute, and create joyful memories with the people I meet.

Can't wait to meet you all!

More details about my language interests
Spending a year in Australia really helped me improve my English — but I still feel there’s so much more to learn. That’s one of my goals while doing Workaway: to keep practicing English in real, everyday situations while helping others at the same time. I believe language is best learned through connection, not just textbooks! I’d also love to give something back. If anyone is interested in learning Korean, I’d be more than happy to teach! While working at a Korean language academy as a tour guide, I had the chance to meet and teach Korean to many foreign students. It was so rewarding to see them grow in confidence and enjoy the language.

I’m a fast learner, reliable, and always try to bring a positive energy to whatever I do! I may not be a specialist in any one field, but I’m very open-minded and always ready to help. Here are some things I can offer:

-Cleaning & Housekeeping: I’m tidy and enjoy keeping spaces clean and organized. I don’t mind doing chores and always take care of shared spaces.

-Cooking & Meal Prep: I can cook basic meals (especially Korean food!) and love sharing meals with others.

-Childcare: I’ve cared for children in an after-school program, helping them with activities, keeping them safe, and making sure they had fun. I enjoy being around kids and always try to create a warm, kind, and creative environment for them.

-Language Exchange: I speak Korean and can help teach or practice if you are interested in learning!

-Art & Creativity: I worked as a calligraphy instructor in Korea, teaching both kids and adults. I love expressing myself through art and enjoy sharing creative activities with others — whether it’s drawing, crafting, or helping with design ideas.

-Customer Service & Communication: I’ve worked in customer-facing roles both in Korea and abroad — including a café in Korea, and a bakery and restaurant in Australia. I enjoy creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests and always try to make people feel comfortable.

-Gardening & Farming (Beginner): I don’t have professional experience yet, but I’m very interested in outdoor work and would love to learn more about gardening and farming. I’m physically active and happy to help with planting, weeding, harvesting, or any simple tasks.

Above all, I’m respectful, open to feedback, and happy to support your home, family, or project however I can. 😊

  • What else ...

I absolutely love water activities and swimming, and I feel happiest when I’m surrounded by nature. There’s something special about walking under the sun and enjoying the fresh air.
I'm also passionate about music. Whenever I visit new places or meet new people, I love sharing and discovering the music they enjoy. It's such a fun way to connect and learn about different cultures.
When it comes to photography, I’m pretty good at taking great shots with my phone — no camera required! I even taught landscape and portrait photography online, helping others capture beautiful moments.
Another creative hobby I love is drawing. As long as I have paper and a pen, I’m good to go! I often put on some music and let my imagination flow onto the page.
