I am documentary filmmaker and a gardener by trade. I grew up on a farm and love being immersed in nature. I studied zoology too so wildlife is my passion.
Description
My partner, Barney, and I are travelling Italy in a campervan for a few weeks across May-June and we are hoping to do one or two workaways in the trip to gain experience of life in Italy and to hopefully develop our understanding of permaculture and sustainable agriculture practices.
I am a documentary filmmaker and a gardener. I studied Zoology so wildlife is my main passion and at the heart of most of the films. I grew up on a farm so have always been surrounded by animals, wild and domestic, in some capacity. Barney is a musician, in post-rock band, Quade (check them out they are great!), and he is also studying a part-time Masters in Society, Politics and Climate Change, and on the side works as a prep chef and a gardener too!
Because we both work in garden maintenance, we know our way around a power tool and can weed a bed no problem! We are really passionate about horticulture and food cultivation and would love to learn more about permaculture and incorporating ecological principles into small-scale agriculture. We are hoping to build on our existing experience of trying to grow veg in a tiny urban garden in the UK... which has been largely unsuccessful - due to a lack of sun, and slugs.
Really hoping to find a place to throw ourselves into rural Italian life and get our hands dirty learning new skills!
