Our next destination:
Indonesia - from May 2025 until Jul 2025 View allDescription
We met each other 6 years ago in a hostel in North-Macedonia. Angela was backpacking all of Europe, whereas Klaas was just volunteering in the hostel. It was love at first sight and after travelling together through the Balkans, we decided to never leave each other.
Fast forward to today. After living together in the Netherlands for 6 years, we sold all our belongings, quit our jobs, and set off to realise our dreams and create our own adventures. We are on a year-long (maybe more, who knows) travel in Southeast Asia (plus extras). We love a bit of a challenge, whether that’s physical labour or helping out on the farm, building, DIYs, etc. We are hardworking and social people, excited and thrilled to join you in creating some good in the world. For us, travel is always about the people and experiencing culture. Collectively we speak fluent English, Spanish, and Dutch.
Angela: I’m an artist with a background in studio and e-commerce photography. I have a degree as a 3D game artist. But to be honest, I much prefer spending time off-screen, drawing, painting, and illustrating.
My Peruvian and Spanish roots have given me a deep appreciation for food and cooking. I’ve worked as a bagel maker in a cozy café in the Netherlands, as well as in various kitchens. For me, food is about more than just sustenance—it's a way to connect with others. Lately, I’ve developed an interest in planting and fermentation. I’ve started making my own kombucha, kimchi, sourdough, and more, and I love the satisfaction of nurturing food from the ground up. I’m also eager to dive deeper into eco-farming and sustainable building practices, and I'm excited to contribute my skills while learning new ones along the way.
Klaas: l’m a quick learner with a strong analytical side, and for the past five years, I’ve been working in Risk Management at a bank. My background in math and physics has helped me develop problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. Outside of work, I’m passionate about sports—I've dabbled in everything from soccer and judo to karate and Olympic weightlifting. I also love cooking, especially when I can share a meal with others, and I make a mean Neapolitan pizza. In addition to my office experience, I’ve worked in hostels and restaurants, and served as a tutor and teaching assistant at university. After spending five years in an office, I'm excited to roll up my sleeves and gain hands-on experience in new areas. I'm particularly interested in volunteer opportunities related to farming, construction, sports, cooking, and hospitality.Interests
