Description
Hi! We are a couple - one French woman (me, Laurie) and one English (Charlie). I am 30, a great chef and a kind nurse! Charlie's 40, a passionate ecologist and linguist. We have many interests but are happiest when amongst nature and wildlife or sharing a beer/cup of tea with friends. We met when I was WWOOFing on Charlie's campsite and have subsequently WWOOFed/WorkedAway together in Australia, Japan, Spain and Slovenia. We find that staying in a new place with local people is the best way to appreciate where you are. We are easy-going, open minded, flexible and friendly and are happy to help with whatever needs doing.
We are keen to experience life in a sustainable community as we intend to set up a community of our own in the future. We of course love making new friends and enriching our lives through new experiences but from a practical point of view we are very interested in learning useful skills for a more sustainable and healthy way of life.
Our recent experiences have mostly given us some experience with eco building and renovation, veggie gardening and DIY but we are always keen to take on any project. We're pretty handy and Charlie is currently obsessed with rocket stove mass heaters and wants to try to build one.

Laurie: I am a trained chef and psychiatric nurse. I have basic beekeeping knowledge as my father is a bee keeper. I have wwoofed in various places so I have done a fair amount of gardening and DIY. I have been told that I am hard working and good at seeing a job through to the end.
Charlie: I have a degree in ecology and am also language teacher. I have worked on a couple of machine-free building sites and have also been a wwoof host and wwoofed in a few places and am therefore pretty good at figuring things out and being creative.

What else ...
We are both learning the ukulele, meditate sometimes and are interested in improving our mental and physical health through holistic practices such as yoga. We are starting to learn about medicinal plants and foraging but we also love a good card or board game or watching a good film.
Charlie is a wildlife geek, loves birdwatching, reading and sometimes does tai chi (she's looking for a good teacher right now!). She can also swing poi.
Laurie grew up in the Alps, so she loves outdoor activities and mostly montains ones like skiing and paragliding.
