  • Description

Hi! We are Keegan and Isabella. We have both quit our jobs at home in New Zealand and are travelling to experience new countries and cultures. We enjoy travel that allows us to get to know locals who are keen to share their lifestyles and experiences with us. We are both relaxed and easy going, but hardworking people, and are excited for the new experiences we will find and people we will meet through workaway.

Happiness to us is exploring the outdoors and learning about the culture and arts of wherever we may be. Keegan's true happy place is on a motorbike or mountain bike in the wilderness. Bella loves to paint, be active, enjoys cooking and discovering new foods and as an architectural designer by trade is passionate about art and architecture. She has also recently taken up surfing as she loves to spend time in the ocean.

We are open to any workaway experiences and are keen to experience and learn new things.

    Bella:

I am most interested in creative, construction, cooking and garden related projects/work, and I would love to learn more about permaculture. But I am also keen to have a go at any new experiences and other types of work. For the last few years I have been working as an Architectural Designer at an architecture firm after completing my studies (Master of Architecture) and am interested in the crossovers between well-being, sustainability and design.

    Other skills:
    - Gardening: I'm a keen gardener and I thoroughly enjoyed the 6 months I spent working at a professional gardening company back in New Zealand. I'm mostly interested in growing edible plants and recently have been learning about how to save different seeds to replant in future seasons.
    - Construction: I have hands-on experience assisting with several residential renovations including preparation work, painting and tiling
    - Cooking, Dish hand and general kitchen assistant: I love to cook and try new foods, and I have helped at a local cooking school
    - Childcare: I have babysat and/or nannied for children between the ages of 11 months and 14 years old, including assisting children with their schoolwork during covid lockdowns, cooking and creative play
    - Customer service and administrative support for real estate and medical companies

    Volunteering experience:
    - Tree planting to regenerate native forest
    - Beach clean ups
    - Events: I spent my later teen years as part of a youth circus troupe where I volunteered for community events by performing, and helping on festival days by looking after workshop spaces and assisting teaching flying trapeze. My specialty was any aerial apparatus.
