My name is Madeleine Sampson-Mayes, I am 18, and I dream of living freely, without any strings attached. I want to travel the world. I want to see everything there is to see, touch everything there is to touch, smell everything there is to smell, and taste everything there is to taste. I want to leave a mark on people's lives. I think that doing a month of work away and gaining that experience will enable me to chase after my dreams and hopefully catch them.

I have a high school diploma, and am completing my Cegep (Quebec's 2-year equivalent to 12th grade). I am bilingual (French and English). I have been working part-time in a bakery for almost 4 years. I have gone canoe-camping at a sleep away camp every year for almost a decade now and have also worked there in the kitchen preparing food and cleaning the equipment. I am also a tutor. I am an executive for my school's Model United Nations team and participate in various other clubs (debate club, book club, outdoors club, ASL club). I am also a part of my school's flag football team and take dance classes at an independent dance school.
