My next destination:
Canada - from May 2025 until Mar 2026 View allDescription
I have made a 5 year long dream come true and am coming back to NZ. 1 years ago I quit my desk job and worked in something similar to Outdoor Ed and Outward Bound.
I love being outdoors and exploring new and old countries, helping people grow and learn more about themselves.
I am definitely no newbie to NZ. I was at school in 2011-2012 in Darfield, then 2014 I spend 4 months woofing and travelling both islands, been back to visit a couple more times with family and friends.
Apart from NZ I have traveled my fair share in europe, Australia and a bit in Thailand and Singapore. I’ve lived and worked in the U.K. for a year, so I got plenty of stories to tell ;)
My fist workaway experience was in Belgium last year and it’s been great. I learnt so much from the community I stayed with. I like to bake, so if you feel like it, I am happy to share baked goods :)
I rediscovered my love for hiking 4 years ago - short and long distances (hiked part of the Kungsleden and been in the Sarek in Sweden, hiking in the westfjords of Iceland and various long and short hikes in Germany and surrounding).
Now coming back to NZ I want to hike the Te Araroa. Just not all in one go but bit by bit, see how far I go and work in between :)Interests

For me traveling is about getting to know the country, people and language. Therefore, I always try to pick up some basic knowledge while I am in the country. Once upon a time I learned Te Reo Māori, but it’s been 12 years. I can teach german if you want :)Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
I have experience in general maintenance (fixing fences, painting, sanding, repairing wooden furniture, repairing push bikes etc). I also have worked in an airplane hangar - so I know how to change a wheel, do an oil change and know what a spark plug is.
As I mentioned above, I spend a time woofing in NZ. Where I did house hold work, general maintenance and gardening.
I have a brother who is 12 years younger than me and I looked after him and his friends a lot when he was a baby and child. I also tutored students of different ages and grades for years.
Next to that I spent 12 years riding horses ( english) as a teen and had the chance to handle some Iceland horses on my last trip there- the trott is definitely something to get used to ;)
I am an eager learner and enjoy improving and expanding my skills :)Age

What else ...
When I am not traveling and staying in my home town, I can be found on the pitch playing Lacrosse most of the time. But basically you can excite me with any sport ( about soccer we might need to have a discussion :D)
I like boardgames and I recently discovered the joys of playing Catan, but my favorite game is Skyjo ( which I will bring with me).
I also knit (and crochet) when time allows it. I learned how to spin 2011/12 as well but haven’t done it in a while. Some more information
