Hello we are Mehrad and Rubi we each set out on our own journey of traveling until our passes crossed in a farmstay workaway and from that moment we've decided to continue traveling together🤭❤️

Mehrad:
Greetings from Turkey! 🇹🇷 As an enthusiastic individual who finds joy in embracing new challenges and adapting in new situations, I'm on a mission to add meaningful experiences to my journey through life. I am 23 years old and I'm thrilled to connect with the Workaway community to contribute, learn, and create lasting memories.

About Me:
I've been born and raised in the historic land of Iran 🇮🇷 but have called Turkey home for nearly five amazing years. My current situation=> I quite my university life , took a backpack and started traveling :D

**Volunteer and life experiences**

🧑‍🌾farming: I spent 3 months of volunteering at an organic farm where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in various aspects of sustainable agriculture. From caring for sheep, goats, and chickens to working in the fields and greenhouse, I gained valuable hands-on experience in every aspect of farm life. Whether it was tending to the animals, planting and harvesting crops, or maintaining the greenhouse, each task contributed to my understanding of holistic farming practices. This experience solidified my passion for sustainable living and reinforced my commitment to contributing positively to the environment.

🐾 Animal Lover: Having dedicated time to volunteering in animal shelters, I've nurtured a deep connection with our furry friends. Whether it's providing care, creating enriching environments, or simply sharing moments of joy, I believe in making a difference in the lives of animals.

🌳 Fruit Garden Worker: Worked in gardens as a teenager and There's something profoundly rewarding about tending to nature's bounty, and I find joy in putting care and effort to nurture thriving fruit gardens. *not as volunteer

Bike-Packing Adventure:
🚴‍♂️ Two Wheels, Countless Memories: Picture this – traversing the diverse landscapes of Turkey on a bike-packing adventure that spanned over two months. It was a journey of discovery, resilience, and the sheer joy of exploring the beautiful corners of this country.*not as a volunteer

Rubi:

**About Me:**

Hi, I'm Rubi! I was born and raised in Venezuela until the age of 16, after which I lived in Colombia for a year and then Chile for two years. My passion for travel started when my dear sister, a long-time traveler, invited me to join her on part of her journey. Since then, I've had the pleasure of experiencing new places, learning from diverse cultures, and meeting amazing people along the way.

**Work Experience:**

I have 6 months of experience working in a restaurant kitchen and handling customer service and administrative duties. I also worked as a babysitter for 6 months, developing a love for caring for children and helping families.

**Volunteering Experience:**

I’ve had the chance to volunteer in four different places , gaining hands-on experience:
- On a farm, I helped with cooking, repairing old doors and windows, and doing general maintenance.
- In Poggio Mirteto, I worked in gardening, focusing on planting, weeding, and caring for the land.
- In Turkey, I volunteered on two farms, where I participated in tasks like harvesting crops and animal care.

These experiences have taught me valuable skills and allowed me to connect with people from different cultures. I’m excited to keep learning through new volunteer opportunities.

Skills and Experiences I Can Share:

• Multilinguality: Being fluent in four languages opened so many doors to communicate and connect with people both during my travels and normal life.

• Home and Culinary: Living away from family since the age of 17, made me learn how to cook and clean😇

• Office Experience: During my first year in university, I got an office job in student affairs which may have been a bit boring but it equipped me with valuable organizational and administrative skills.

• Pet Care: I've had a really good time taking care of my brother's dog for an extended period. Understanding the challenges and joys of pet ownership, I'm familiar with the responsibilities that come with furry companions.



• Farming and Animals: 3 months of volunteering in a farm made me develop skills and knowledge to deal with plants and how to take care of animals like sheeps and chickens 🐔 😁

• Bike-Packing Expertise: Thanks to my bike-packing adventures, I've developed skills in fixing and maintaining bicycles. I'm also well-versed in the art of camping – finding the perfect spot, setting up camp, and preparing for memorable journeys.
