Hello!
We're Hattie and Miles, a couple from Bristol UK who are taking a one year career break to do something different.
Miles works in water and nature conservation and Hattie works in the homelessness sector. We're passionate about social and environmental justice and both love the outdoors.
Our interests cover a wide range of areas: sustainability, DIY, eco-farming; animals and nature; sport; culture & music (both of us play instruments). Miles is already fluent in French but Hattie is eager to learn - with us planning to spend most of this year in France.
Miles has got basic carpentry and gardening skills and Hattie has also spent time communally gardening. But we're hard-working and enthusiastic people who are up for learning new skills from like-minded people across a range of areas.
We really enjoy getting out into nature - hiking, swimming, climbing (more Miles!) and cycling and love getting to know new people and helping out where we can. We've both volunteered a lot over the years - Hattie more with families and children, and Miles more in teaching roles.

Miles: I work in freshwater conservation and am always happy to share knowledge around that. I also enjoy manual work outdoors with some farming, gardening and carpentry experience and have worked as a teacher both in Barcelona and in Vanuatu.
Hattie: I have experience of working with young children and families both in my personal and professional life and have also tutored teenagers on various subjects. I've an allotment that I work with friends so have some gardening skills as well.
