We love the ocean. Whether its diving, freediving, spearfishing, or boating, that is what we are happiest doing. We also love to hike, go on adventures, and have great food.

Description

Hi there!

We are Nina and Dan, a Canadian couple who have been working and travelling New Zealand the past two years. We will be travelling around Indonesia and the Philippines for about 6 months starting October 2025. We are both very friendly, outgoing people, who love to get immersed in new cultures and experiences.

We have done previous Workaways in New Zealand on a organic farmstay and WWOOFing on an Italian Winery . Nina is very artsy and loves to draw and paint, and has a keen eye for design. She also enjoys physical work and likes to get her hands dirty. Daniel has done many Workaways in other parts of S.E. Asia. He is handy with basic power tools, loves hard work, and loves to take photos and videos on his camera. We are both very motivated to learn new things and have an immense appreciation for nature and exploration. We love to "rough it" and are happy sleeping on the ground or on a cozy mattress :)

Professionally, Daniel is a marine biologist and has previously worked as a snorkel guide. He was working in New Zealand in the aquaculture industry. Nina is an Interior designer and was working remotely for a Canadian firm working on high end residential houses. We are happy to share our professional skills with you!

The activities that bring us the most joy usually involve getting into nature, such as snorkelling, diving or hiking! We also love cooking up some tasty dishes with recipes that we have picked up from our travels.

We would love to connect with some like minded people and share stories and skills!

We are also happy helping to teach english, although we have no formal training. We both love learning new languages and are currently learning Bahasa Indonesian. We both know very basic Spanish and are interested in learning more!

We are generally both quite handy and have had experience with light farm work, maintenance, gardening and various other handy tasks. We love to cook, love animals and are comfortable caring for them. We are great communicators, easy to get along with and work well in a team or independent setting.

Daniel: With a background in Marine Biology and a masters in aquaculture can be your resource for anything fish and ocean related. Very competent driving any vehicle, including boats.

Nina: With a background in Interior Design, Nina is technically minded and artistic. Also fluent in German.

We are both quick learners and love learning and trying new things. We are keen to try our hands at anything you throw at us!
