  • Description

Hi there! I’m Nouran, a freshly graduated doctor living in Buffalo, New York, originally born and raised in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I have got big love for nature, animals, outdoor adventures, and connecting with people.

When I’m not in scrubs, you’ll probably find me hiking a trail, trying out a new recipe, reciting positive affirmations to my plants, or soaking up live indie and rock music (concerts are truly my happy place!).

I’ve always been drawn to authenticity and genuine human connection and perhaps this is where my love for neurology lies. The brain and nervous system are not just fascinating, complex areas of study; they are literally the very essence of who we are as individuals!

Over the past few years, I have loved travelling across Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East, sometimes with friends, other times solo, and I’ve been lucky to form lifelong connections with people along the way. Now, as I stand on the edge of starting my residency this summer and committing the next four years to training, I’m looking for something a bit more grounding to close this chapter this May. I’m seeking a heartwarming workaway experience, a chance to slow down, reflect, meet new people, spend time in nature, and make some memories while giving back to a community that welcomes me.

I’ve had a wide range of hands-on experiences (detailed below!), and I’m always happy to jump in, get my hands dirty, and learn something new. I’m resourceful, curious, and truly love being of help wherever I can.

I’m hoping to find a place where kindness, creativity, and connection matter. So if you're looking for someone with a big heart, a curious mind, and a strong work ethic, I’d be thrilled to be part of your community!

  • More details about your skills

I love contributing to communities in any way I can — whether it's helping with cooking, animal care, gardening, DIY projects, or just offering general support, I’m always happy to lend a hand and give it my all!

I’m a creative at heart with a strong background in photography and social media management. During college, I shot everything from events to weddings, and I’ve created photo and video content for restaurants, NGOs, volunteering groups, and student clubs. I’ve designed posts, run social accounts, and know how to communicate a message with visual impact.

I’m also great with people and enjoy working in hospitality, childcare, and education. I’ve worked at a children’s indoor playground, taught special education students, and volunteered with NGOs focused on kids under 15. I bring a friendly, playful energy, and years of experience have made me patient, empathetic, and adaptable to different personalities and cultural backgrounds.

I’m confident in my ability to teach and explain things clearly, especially when I know my topic well. I’ve also spent time working with the elderly and am always respectful and compassionate in care settings.

Community service and hands-on help are close to my heart. I’ve taken part in school renovation projects, and donation drives helping create safe and welcoming environments for underserved groups. I’ve also done light renovation and landscaping work through previous summer programs, and while I’m no expert, I’m enthusiastic, hardworking, and quick to learn!

Cooking and baking is another past time of mine, I love preparing and experimenting in the kitchen. I’d be more than happy to share a Middle Eastern dishe meal (or a dessert!) with you.

I also have a growing love for plants and gardening. I’ve taken part in some light gardening and landscaping, and I enjoy rescuing clearance plants and nursing them back to life.

Overall, I’m someone who says yes to life, is open to new challenges, and always ready to lend a helping hand. If you’re looking for someone reliable, creative, people-savvy, and eager to learn, I’d love to join your team this May!
