I'm a hard worker with passion for nature, animals and living sustainably. Mindfulness is a large part of my life. I try to approach everything I do with joy, kindness and an open heart.
I'm from NYC but a for the last six years, I've been living and working in South East Asia. I started my first Workaway experience sublimely in Koh Lanta Thailand at Chill Out House working construction and was very happy to shortly take on the role of manager. From there I had the most amazing time spending the next year working in a few very different spots including India at a camel safari in Jaisalmer, then at The WIldflower, painting murals and bartending in Koh Rong Samloem Cambodia.
For the following 6 months and through out covid, I had been living in a tent, working with the inspiring team of The Mindfulness Project near Khon Kean in rural Thailand. I had the pleasure of teaching yoga daily and providing the space with big colorful murals while apprenticing natural building I was able to teach natural brick making and in charge of natural products as I eventually took over the responsibilities of the kitchen. I helped to create new recipes for vegan and gluten free deserts/granola bars/powerballs/cakes/etc.
We spent the quarantine months together continuing our work and providing a safe place for travelers who found themselves stuck without a flight home and could not be more grateful to our incredible team and the friendships I made there will be forever.
Eventually it was time for me to move on so I backed my bike and headed back to Koh Lanta, Thailand where I built an art studio on the beach and started my little Mural painting business (www.pennysstudiothailand.com)
I'm happy to say that I'm back on the road again and in costa rica at the moment. I would love to be a part of a nature community again, I'm open to learning, growing and am excited to share my time and skills with like minded souls under the beautiful sun.
Thank you!
