Description
I have a bachelor and a master degree from Comparative and Serbian Literature, finished two years of phd studies and now should work on doctoral dissertation (it is about the conecpt of art in Thomas Mann's Doktor Faustus).

Also, I am a selftaught guitarist, so the things I like the most are art and culture generally.

Literature, music and pedagogy in general is my professional field. For five-six years I worked as a guitar teacher with children in different types of schools, made guitar orchestras...

Last two years and a half worked in a hostel in Belgrade.

One summer several years ago I traveled with a friend through Europe, mostly Germany. We were three months busking in the streets and played in cafes in Austria, Switzerland, Germany and France. It was marvelous experience, but my highest musical success was a song dedicated to St. Nicolas, which I wrote for a children church choir and which got the first prize in Serbia that year.

In the Summer 2022 I did three months Workaway in Germany, on several different places and it was really unique life experience.

It was marvelous experience!!! I spent one month in Burgliebenau and I am really greatfull to Matthias and Dagny for giving people such a good way to visit Germany and meet new people.

I was lucky in three ways:
I was there with two excellent guys - Adrian and Titoine;
Matthias and Dagny are excellent hosts;
I had 9 euro ticket and enough time… read more to visit Halle, Dresden, Jena, Merseburg, Leipzig, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Naumburg, Erfurt.

FOOD:
Mostly you eat what you want. They buy the food you say you like to eat or give you money to go and buy yourself. Breakfast and lunch are normally bread with something (spreads, cheese, salami, jam...) and dinner is the major meal, cooked and warm. Dinner is sometimes prepared by hosts, sometimes by workawayers. So, you will eat very very good!

WORK:
The type of the work depends of your talents and of the actual need in castle. During my stay we were making a wall from stones, taking off wallpapers in one room, chopping wood, making lime and mortar, cutting grass, handing out flyers in mailboxes in the village, taking care of flowers... You work maximum five hours a day. If some work is hard to you, they will find you another thing to do. One week we worked only first three days, cause Matthias had some lectures in Dresden on Thursday and Friday and called us to go with him and stay there also for the weekend. Any kind of problem or wish you might have, they would listen to you and solve it. Matthias is a good organizer. The schedule is like this: 8.30 breakfast, 9.30 work, 12.00 lunch break, 13.00 work, 15.30 end. Weekend is free and you can do whatever you want and eat whenever you want.

CULTURE:
Halle is a beautiful city; there is the museum of G. F. Handel.
Merseburg is just 25 minutes by bike or by bus; there is an old church (UNESCO heritage) and the city museum.
Naumburg is also near; there is an old church (UNESCO, too) and Nietzsche's house.
Erfurt and Jena are 1h with train. Erfurt is one especially beautiful city. In Jena I visited Schiller's house.
Leipzig is near - there is Bach museum.
Dresden is about 3h with train; there is one of the best museums in Europe (old masters - Tizian, Giorgione, Coreggio, Raphael, Botticelli, Claude Lauren, Poussain, Cranachs, Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dycke...); the city itself is also interesting and has many things worth to see.
Lutherstadt Wittenberg is also 1h with train and there you can visit Luther's house, Cranachs house, churches...

So, what to say more? If you come with good will you will have very good time.

I wish Matthias and Dagny to stay like they are - honest, humorous, hospitable, tollerant, talkative.

I know Matthias is also grateful to me because he learned a lot about Gavrilo Princip, who became a personal hero for him.
