Hello
As I have now retired from the world of work, I am looking to expand my experience in other counties, to do more hands on work in Building or DIY or helping others in learning new skills. My first workaway was in the Netherlands in Oct 24 for 3 weeks at the one location. Now i am looking for similar in other counties.
I like building things and have attached a few photos of past DIY at home etc.
Since giving up work i have taken up more running and cycling and like to walk to local places rather than take the car. I play Tennis and Hockey from time to time and will bring my own bike with me. If I am listening to Music it will be BBC Radio 6 to hear old favorites and whats new {and not in the charts}

Initially I want to be able to speak more Dutch, and would like to practice other languages to a basics level. 40 years ago I did a volunteering course on how to teach English as a second language, I would also like to learn some French.

I lived on a Narrow boat and Barge for 30 years and did most of the fitting out myself including Timber work, flooring, Ceramic Tiling, Plumbing, Electrics 12volt and 240 volt, on some boats the Gas work but that is probably best left to the experts!
At my girlfriends house i have built Concrete block walls and helped in the building of a small extension by doing the Flat roof structure.
I was also a volunteer counsellor for Childline for 5 years, which in the Netherlands i think is called "Kinder telephone". In work I also worked in Training doing management development and workshops in presenting and listening skills. When I fitted out a boat for my daughter I got her to help and showed her how to do tiling and electrics in her own boat.

What else ...

I will come with my camper van and bring my own Bike, and maybe my Kayak. I have Friends in the Netherlands that i will catch up with them on some of my off days.
I follow Everton and will be hoping they start to win more games than they loose??
