Hi, my name is Ruben, and I am an 18-year-old from London.

I come from a rich and diverse cultural background, with roots in both India and South Africa. This heritage has instilled in me a great desire to learn about and appreciate other cultures, broadening my perspectives and fostering a deep appreciation for diversity.

I have several hobbies that keep me active and engaged. Running is one of my favorite activities as it not only keeps me fit but also provides a sense of freedom and mental clarity. I also enjoy cooking, experimenting with different recipes, and flavours from around the world, which allows me to express my creativity and connect with my cultural roots. Additionally, I am passionate about football refereeing, which combines my love for the sport with the thrill of being part of the game in a unique way.

I strongly believe that everyone should strive to pursue what they are passionate about and what brings them happiness. It’s important to me that people live authentically and engage in activities that fulfill them. This belief guides my actions and decisions, motivating me to stay true to myself and encourage others to do the same.

For me, happiness for me comes from a blend of physical activity, social connections, and new experiences. Spending quality time with my family and friends is something I deeply cherish, as their support and companionship mean the world to me. I also find joy in exploring new places, whether it’s a different suburb of London or a new country altogether, fills me with excitement and a sense of adventure, whilst enriching me further.

My hobbies and passions have played a significant role in shaping who I am today, not least through acquiring a broad skill set. I consider myself to be a reliable, driven, and committed individual.

My experience as a Football referee taking charge of over 150 games has provided me with numerous transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, an ability to work under extreme pressure as well and an ability to learn from my mistakes.

Furthermore, previous jobs that I have held had given me a number of transferable skills. For example, working with the NGO Grassroots Malawi has given me significant knowledge as to the challenges faced by many developing nations.

As well as this, I spent a year and a half working part time at a nursery in South London, this helped me to develop my skills working with children.

My other hobbies such as running have also equipped me with several other skills such as perseverance and overall helping me to become a more well-rounded individual.
