We both have the right to live and work in the UK which is what we are looking to do in order to raise some funds to reinvest into our library building project at our home in The Gambia.
Our next destination:
United Kingdom - from Jul 2025 until Jan 2026 View allDescription
Hey! We’re a couple living off-grid in The Gambia.
Adama’s a Senegalese griot (a musician, drum-maker and storyteller) and we run drumming and dance workshops together. I’m a creative all-rounder and we spend our days looking after our land, raising our little one alongside our sheep, chickens, dogs and cats 🐑🐔🐾 and growing our own food 🌱
Right now we’re building a small community library 📚 and it feels really good to be creating something so special for our neighbours and local community.
Living simply is what keeps us grounded 🌾✨👐Interests

More details about your skills
👩🌾 I have experience working on a private island as a hospitality assistant, cleaning supervisor and general helper. I’ve worked on organic farms with sheep, managed daily chores and helped host guests for yoga, writing and artist retreats. I’ve also supported chefs in the kitchen cooking and serving meals to a professional standard and in my own time i love to cook nutritious wholesome food for myself and others🍲🧘♀️
🌍 I’m well-travelled and have worked with children over the years through babysitting and through my own experience as a mother. I live comfortably off-grid... cooking on the fire, working with plants, focusing on sustainability and self sufficiency and embracing nature. I’m a good listener, incredibly patient and I have strong attention to detail 🔥✨
🚗 I have a full uk driving license and I am very handy with social media, photography and content creation.
🪘 Adama makes, plays, and teaches West African drumming. In the UK, he led drumming workshops in primary schools, bringing so much joy to those around him. He’s also worked as a cleaner and is a natural caregiver, having looked after elderly family members with patience and respect ❤️
🌿 He grew up in the African bush and knows how to use plants and herbs for healing. He’s deeply connected to the land and is full of wisdom and stories. He’s warm, welcoming and can make anyone feel at home. We often host travelers ourselves which is something we enjoy doing together. Adama is also very handy with DIY, and like me, is fully comfortable living off-grid... collecting water, tending to animals, building and problem-solving with what’s available 🛠️🌾🔥
We’re both hardworking, adaptable and happy to get stuck in... whether it’s on the land, in the home, or in a creative space 🙌🌱Age

We spent the 10 days building the foundations of their first cob house which is really a beautiful project. They were very welcoming to teach and explain the process and theory behind the project and build. It was like nothing I could have ever… read more
