What Brings Us Happiness
Sharing Knowledge: As a math teacher, I, Sonia, love working with kids, helping them with their homework, or making challenging concepts feel approachable and fun.
Creative Work: My husband and I enjoy working on social media projects, creating content, and bringing fresh ideas to life. I am also master on editing, filming and social media marketing.
Caring for Animals: We both adore pets and are experienced in pet care—feeding, grooming, walking, and simply showering them with love.
Hospitality & Organization: We take pride in creating welcoming spaces, whether it’s cleaning, organizing, or cooking meals that bring comfort and joy.
Gardening: Spending time outdoors and getting our hands dirty in the garden is something we thoroughly enjoy.

We are Sonia and Steven, a married couple excited to embrace new adventures, connect with people, and contribute to meaningful projects through Workaway. Here’s a little about us:
What Motivates Us
During our travels, we met lots of amazing Workawayers from around the world. The places we stayed also hosted incredible Workawayers, and seeing their collaboration and the beautiful environment they created inspired us to join this community. We felt that we could fit into this wonderful collaboration and contribute to it with our own skills and enthusiasm.
What Brings Us Happiness
Sharing Knowledge: Sonia is a mathematician with a master’s degree and a love for art, nature, and creativity in all forms. She has mastered social media marketing and enjoys creating video memoirs of our travels. Since math is the universal language of nature, Sonia is happy to help anyone who needs assistance with it!
Steven, after years in a corporate career filled with endless meetings, found his passion in tennis coaching. Teaching students aged 4 to 74 has brought him immense joy, especially in helping them improve and find happiness through the game.
Creative Work: Sonia can create anything with whatever materials she’s given, while Steven is an excellent problem solver!
Caring for Animals: We have cared for a wide variety of pets, including cats, dogs, birds, and fish. We even admire and respect the smaller creatures of nature, like snails! Sonia also runs a blog about holistic pet care, having helped hundreds of pets even remotely.
Hospitality & Organization: We both have extensive experience in hospitality, from meeting at a hotel we worked at to running our own businesses. With careers spanning from waitressing to managing performance halls, we understand the importance of customer satisfaction.
Gardening: Sonia grew up learning from her gardener father, while Steven is a self-taught gardener who has always maintained an allotment. (It takes green fingers to grow sunflowers in the UK climate!)

Sonia’s expertise in teaching math and engineering makes her a natural at breaking down complex topics. She’s passionate about sharing knowledge and creating engaging learning experiences.

We’re building our own brand and have helped previous companies with social media management, turning us into digital nomads. We’re happy to share our expertise with hosts as well!
Hospitality:
Hospitality is one of the main reasons we joined Workaway. We want to immerse ourselves in the local culture, sharing your dream and ensuring guests feel like they belong rather than just visiting.
We’re experienced in cleaning, organizing, and preparing meals inspired by international cuisines.
Animal Care:
From feeding and grooming to providing companionship, we’ve looked after pets with love and care. Our experience with holistic pet care adds a special touch to what we can offer.
Gardening & DIY:
We enjoy planting, maintaining gardens, and tackling small home improvement projects. DIY is a way of life for us, and we’re excited to showcase our skills whenever needed.
Flexibility & Hard Work:
Teaching math and engineering equips us with the patience and adaptability to teach and learn just about anything. We’re committed to supporting and contributing to your project in any way we can.
Our Hobbies and Interests
We LOVE hiking, reading, cooking, and learning—whether it’s new languages, cuisines, history, or culture! Getting out of our comfort zones excites us, and we’re always eager to try new experiences.
