I'm franco-american which means my culture is somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic and I'm comfortable speaking either French or English (and teaching them if you're interested). Bonus point if you want to share your own culture/language. In fact, bonus point if you want to share any amount of your knowledge!
I really like to cook veggie food (I did study cooking in France) and I want to get more into video editing. I am always up for a board game.
I was fortunate to discover Workaway in 2019 and spend a year travelling around the USA and making friends and family for life. I got to take care of orchards, old houses, chickens, kids, and even a buddhist temple. I've now also gained a lot of experience living on sailboats.
I really hope I can have a positive impact through the opportunities of this site.
My year 2025 is dedicated to the islands, to finding a new way of life now that it's become truly complex to work in translation, and to finding a sailboat.
I hope we'll have a lot to teach each other!

Je suis franco-américain, ce qui veut dire que ma culture se situe quelque part au milieu de l'Atlantique, et que l'on peut converser en français ou en anglais, comme vous préférez (et que vous pouvez pratiquer ces deux langues avec moi). Points supplémentaires si vous voulez m'enseigner votre propre langue/culture, ou partager toutes autres connaissances !
J'aime beaucoup cuisiner végé (j'ai fait un CAP de cuisine en France) et je veux m'impliquer davantage dans l'édition vidéo. Je suis toujours prêt à faire un jeu de plateau.
J'ai eu la chance de découvrir Workaway en 2019 et de passer un an à voyager à travers les États-Unis, rencontrant de la famille et des amis pour la vie. J'ai eu l'occasion de m'occuper d'arbres fruitiers, de vieilles maisons, de poules, d'enfants, et même d'un temple bouddhiste. J'ai aussi pu développer de nouvelles compétences en vivant sur des voiliers.
J'espère pouvoir avoir un impact positif grâce aux opportunités de ce site.
Mon année 2025 est dédiée aux îles, à trouver un nouveau mode de vie maintenant qu'il est vraiment devenu difficile de travailler dans la traduction, et à trouver un voilier.
J'espère que nous aurons beaucoup à apprendre l'un(e) de l'autre !

I am a trained chef - vegetarian cuisine - mostly I like a challenge and to discover and try new things. Don't ask me to make the same exact meal twice! And bread baking doesn't scare me anymore.
For the past two years I have focused on gaining sailing skills, I'm an experienced deckhand, and I aspire to have my own boat someday soon, after I've been on very many different boats to learn as much as I can.
I love doing painting work, wether it be repainting a house or making art. I've helped fix up the inside of a few houses before, repairing drywall, rebuilding a ceiling, etc.
I would love to help you or your kids or your friends practice language skills, from tips and tricks to general use to one-on-one tutoring. Just tell me if you want me to correct you as we go.
I have great computer and research skills. I can translate, transcribe and edit professionally. My YouTube channel went viral by accident.
I am good with people and have worked in many areas of the service industry - library clerk, restaurant worker, theater host, makeshift interpreter, babysitter: kids tend to like me and I tend to like kids.
I can sew, with or without a machine. I could remember how to embroider or crochet if need be. I've even sewn up some sails on two different boats, once during a crossing with the mainsail still on the mast.
I've worked in hostels for a few days at a time. Sometimes I'm a voice-over artist. Thanks to Workaway I've now done quite a bit of gardening and animal care, including but not limited to chickens and dogs. I also love long walks, so dogs tend to appreciate my visit!
In short I am highly adaptable and learn quickly so please, put me in a position where I've never been and I'm likely to thrive. I aspire to be a jack-of-all-trades.
