  • Description

Hello! I'm Clare and I'm a 38 year old from London. I teach at a university and complete research to help people with disabilities who are not verbal. Being a Psychology graduate, I really love learning about others. I adore adventure, sharing and learning skills, and am keen to experience more of the world and alternative ways of living, and loving, life. I'm a decent cook, a give-it-a-go gardener and have experience working in education (from nursery children right up to lecturing adults at university). I've only completed one Workaway but loved it. It is clear that different Workaways offer different things, from personal fulfilment to changing others' lives. I'm really excited to have joined this website and am ready for many life experiences that it'll bring! Big love

  • More details about your skills

I'm willing to give anything a try and am a fast learner. I think creatively and enjoy problem solving.

I'm a decent cook and grow my own herbs and salad items at home. I also have a go at growing other plants, flowers and berries. Although I wouldn't call myself green-fingered as such, I'm happy with my progress and really enjoy spending time outside in the garden.

I have experience working in education. I am a lecturer and to teach at a universities. I can teach Psychology and related key skills such as maths, statistics, writing skills, essay and report writing. I have taught both small and large groups, undergraduate and postgraduate students, online and face to face.

For three years, during my PhD, I loved spending time with 3-4 year olds working in a nursery. I also have experience working in an international pre-school in Finland (6-7 year olds) and completed most of my upper primary school teacher training (7-11year olds).

My working and volunteering experience means that I have experience working with children and adults who are disadvantaged. This includes people from low social economic backgrounds as well as those with special educational needs including those with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.

In terms of DIY, I am a trier. I have a complete tool set (inc. electric drill and jigsaw etc.) and am excited whenever I have the opportunity to use them - although I must admit I am still at the start of learning my handy(wo)man skills! I do, however, enjoy being practical and am happy to get stuck in!

My colleagues (at least tell me!) they consider me a good team player and I genuinely care about the people I work alongside. So yes, I hope that's enough skills for now! If you want to know any others please feel free to ask.

Thanks very much hope to hear from you soon!!
