  • Description

I'm a respectful, motivated, and energetic 30 years old belgian volunteer, who loves laughing as much as Life itself ! 😁 I've been reputed wherever I worked for my strong work ethic, my willingness to do the things rightly and the quality of my work.

I left Brussels (where I lived almost all my life) on the end of March, going to New Zealand to discover its amazing Nature and openminded people. My aim is to refocus on myself while learning new working skills, perfecting the ones I already have, meeting new people, discovering new languages, the sweet-looking Kiwi culture, it's way of thinking and, of course, also all these beautiful landscapes ! ❤️

I would really like to learn about permaculture and others self-sufficient food growing processes and ways of living. 🤗

Indeed, very curious, thinking a lot, being extra-receptive to my environment and emotionally sensitive, I feel instantly so much better when I'm surrounded by nature and I want to feel myself useful by working in direct contact with it and be able to raise public awareness about ecological issues.

    Experience:
I've had some gardening experiences all my life:
-1800 hours gardening formation at COF, Amay (2021-2023)
    -gardening maintenance here and there
-2x ecological volunteering for a bit less than one month each time in France (2021/2024)
-ecological volunteering for 4 months in Costa-Rica (2020)
-ecological volunteering for 2 months in Germany (2015)
-1 year contract as gardener for a district of Brussels (2018-2019)

I create electronic music for 10 years and I also studied photography over 5 years so I find myself with a fairly substantial background in those technicals and artistics fields. I will connect my passions by making a photography report of your mission, as it starts to be a kind of tradition for me. 😋

I'm athletic and full of energy ! 😁 Physical works will not be any problem for me. I did my four years scouting (8-12 years old) in plus of my working experiences so I find myself at ease with teamwork, sociability, etc.

I've got my international driver's license but I unfortunately will not be able to afford a car before I will have find a real job.

Looking forward to be in contact with you, I send you my kindest regards. 😊

The main part of my experience is about gardening:

-I did a gardening formation (2021-2023) of 1800 hours in which I was on working site 38 hours/week. There I managed to learn all the tasks a landscape gardener needs to do (as hedge-trimming, lawn mowing (even with a tractor), brush-cutting/scythering, planting, weeding, and so on..).
I've also had the opportunity at the end of this formation to work as a student for a tree surgeon who learned me how to lumberjack properly. (I'm not going to lie about the fact that I still have a lot to learn about it, as each tree is actually pretty different from another one).

-I gardened all my life here and there.

    - I made an ecological volunteering in France where I helped for a few tasks as creating a woodhouse for the future sheeps, creating an aromatic spiral, I also recovered old paths with the brush cutter, helped with my photographic skills to document all the plants that were growing there,...

-I made another ecological volunteering in Germany in which I had to: lawn care, weeding, hedge trimming, wood cutting (axe and chainsaw), creation of drains for the evacuation of water in the forest, creation of insect's hotels, tree stump removal, protection young trees against deers,... I also was daily training his young dog Luca to makes him able to find Lucanus Cervus's larvas, which were the passion of my employer.

-I also did a one year contract as gardener for the district of Berchem-Sint-Agathe in Brussels. The experience was great but the other workers were all way too lazy...

I studied photography for 5 years and also learned Adobe Photoshop for the same lapse of time.

I use Ableton Live to create electronic music since 10 years now.

  • What else ...

I'm beginning to think about the fact that I actually haven't got any feedback review may have a role in the fact that, despite my visible entusiam and motivation, almost no-one answer my messages. 🥲
Explanation is simple: my volunteering in Costa Rica has been stopped quickly by COVID lockdown. To be totally transparent the hosts weren't that great and I didn't wanted to give them a bad review, so I didn't had any feedback either.
For the two other ones I mentioned in my profile (Germany and France), I didn't used Workaway.

I hope it will reassure people who might, maybe, have been doubting about something. 😄🤝
