  • Description

Hi! I'm Disorn, but feel free to call me by my nickname Mike. 😊 I'm a Thai-American with a passion for cultural exchange, education, and community engagement. Growing up in the vibrant streets of New York City, I've embraced both my Thai heritage and my American upbringing, making me someone who thrives in multicultural environments.

Hi! I am Chelsea. I was born and raised in New Jersey, USA, and have ancestry in El Salvador and the Dominican Republic. In the future, I hope to be a lawyer, but am taking the time to develop my worldly skills and give back to marginalized communities. Currently, I am an English Teacher in Nakhon Si Thammarat and I love every second of it.

    Disorn:
I am an experienced educator and culturally savvy professional passionate about bridging cultural gaps and fostering understanding. My journey began with achieving my dream of studying abroad in Japan, and since then, I’ve dedicated myself to supporting others in achieving their goals. My experience spans teaching, mentoring, and providing exceptional customer service, as evidenced by my time as an Associate at Siam Market in Queens, New York. I was consistently praised for my friendly, five-star service and ability to bridge Thai and non-Thai cultures through translation and cultural insights.

Beyond my professional roles, I founded and led the Thai Student Association at the University at Buffalo, raising awareness about Thai culture through fun, informative activities. This experience, combined with my ambition to connect and learn from diverse communities, fuels my drive to be a global citizen who promotes cultural understanding. Whether it’s teaching, collaborating, or building connections, I’m eager to contribute, grow, and make meaningful impacts wherever I go.

I am fluent in speaking Thai!

    Chelsea:
Recently, I graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Rutgers University, recognized for academic excellence as a Phi Beta Kappa inductee. My experience includes teaching English in Thailand, where I have fostered cross-cultural understanding and engaged students through innovative teaching methods.

In my passed, I have worked as a Judiciary Intern with the Mercer County Superior Courthouse, I honed my legal skills by preparing comprehensive reports on restraining orders and guiding litigants through complex legal processes. My leadership roles have varied, and are reflected in my commitment to teamwork and community engagement. Additionally, my internship with Vital Voices Global Partnership, a woman's advocacy enhanced my organizational and communication skills, while my involvement in various projects, such as social action initiatives on racial justice and reproductive health, showcases my advocacy for policy change. I am fluent in English and Spanish and in the process of learning Thai, thus I can contribute effectively in diverse environments.

Aside from academics, I spent four years working at the Cheesecake Factory, and have abundant knowledge in working in hospitality and delivering stellar customer service.
