  • Description

    Kia Ora!

We are two Kiwi/Australian travellers, currently living in the UK whilst we travel Europe and Africa in our van! We both enjoy surfing and being in nature, immersing ourselves in new cultures, and the occasional friendly (competitive) game of cards. Elise grew up dancing and enjoys creative projects, fashion, and is a big animal lover. Oliver is a handy, retired plumber who loves skating, cycling and being active.

Right now we are down in Morocco surfing, exploring, and taking some time away from the wet winter in the UK. We return to Europe in March after a well rested holiday. We are eager to help out in an upcoming or well established project where we can learn new skills, share our own knowledge from previous work experience's, and have fun with new friends whilst we help you with your project!

  • More details about your skills

    Elise:
I’ve worked in a mixed bag of industries since graduating high school. I first worked as a Dental Assistant and Receptionist for an Orthodontist on the Sunshine Coast. Part of my role was the in-house lab work - making retainers, filling tooth spaces with composite, and repairing cracked moulds. After 3 years of sucking saliva, I worked in a bunch of cafes, bars and restaurants as good stop gap gigs whilst moving around in my early 20s.

I then moved to Sydney to begin my studies of Fashion Business and volunteered at Australian Fashion Week & Milan Fashion Week as a dressing and fittings assistant. In 2023 I moved back to the UK and landed my first job in London as Studio Executive for a vintage fashion brand.

My last job before our travels was helping with the refurbishing of an old pub into a new cafe in Bristol - lots of cleaning, sanding furniture, repotting plants, and layers of painting was done! I enjoy organising spaces, have a good eye for detail, and like working in creative spaces and with my hands.

    Ollie:
After graduating high school at 18, I trained as a plumbers apprentice in New Zealand. I worked for 2 years and really enjoyed working with my hands and using tools. My family and I then moved to Melbourne, Australia, and instead of completing my apprenticeship (regretful) I decided to work with my father at Crown Casino, providing food and beverage to the customers. I did this for a good 3 years until I saved up enough money to travel Europe, and then settled in Bristol, UK.

I have since worked in hospitality as a bar tender, kitchen hand, and throughout Summer last year built stages for festivals. This involved basic carpentry, tool knowledge, and team work. I am capable of basic to medium level construction work, have a good understanding of most power tools, a good work ethic, and can get down with any job, good or bad!

In 2023, I helped a lady with her gardening in the Algarve of Portugal for 4 weeks. She taught me a lot, and I’d love to continue learning about gardening or farming.

  • What else ...

We both love the ocean and being out in nature. We're drawn to places where we can surf, swim, or go for a big walk or bike ride. Presidents & A**holes is our favourite card game, and is usually played with an incentive for the winner. In our down time, Elise enjoys crocheting while Ollie is usually troubleshooting improvements to the van. We're good eaters and enjoy a healthy diet, wether its vegetarian, vegan, or meals with meat involved, we are happy! We have a Ford Transit called Joi who has been home to us for the past 5 months, so we are able to travel freely during our work commitments.

We are sociable and excited to meet new friends on this adventure, but also like our downtime and respect other peoples space.
