Hi! I’m Joe. I have recently discovered this platform and find it so exciting! —the personalities and stories of the hosts and workawayers come across so strongly and I love meeting new people!
I am currently taking a gap year before studying History at university next year. I have been working for a chess-teaching charity in London which I love since September 2024 but I plan to travel from April and am looking for projects where I can teach English.
EXPERIENCE: I have many hours of experience teaching in a classroom setting from my job at a chess charity which involves teaching chess to primary school classes in London schools. The job also involves lots of admin work so I have excel and IT skills to offer if that were helpful.
INTERESTS: I love anything creative — in particular playing music and making art. I play piano and clarinet and songwriting with my sister and I would love the chance to teach music in a school setting.
I also love playing chess, both online and in person since it allows me to meet new people.
Finally I am a big reader of both nonfiction books, particularly about history and current affairs and novels!
