Description
We are a couple spending time in South India until spring next year. Our intention is to find meaningful projects that give our trip purpose and help us learn about our hosts' lives in India. We enjoy connecting with people.
Both of us have some experience in farming and food production. Dexter is a long term volunteer on a local community farm project. He has worked in organic crop production, helping with no till farming. Katherine lives in a land-based community and has experience with standard gardening work, like weeding, building beds and basic crop management.
We have experience in cooking and catering for large groups, including leading kitchen teams. Our cooking is mostly vegan. Dexter has taught fermentation at one of London's best vegan restaurants.
Katherine has volunteered with an ONG helping refugees from Venezuela. She is an English teacher and happy to practise English conversation.
Both of us are strong and happy to help out with construction work.
We are both practising Buddhists and enjoy conversations around spirituality. Our other interests include fermentation, running, climbing, reading, music (keen to hear recommendations), textiles, deep fried bananas, soy beans, fruit and chess.
Katherine is vegetarian, Dexter is an undemanding vegan and happy to modify meals.
