Hello!

Hello! I'm Lottie, a 26 year old from England. I grew up in a small town in the countryside with my older brother and my parents. I have been lucky enough to travel to many different countries throughout my childhood and my love for travelling has never stopped into adulthood!

I have loved all of my travel experiences, especially meeting different people from across the globe, sharing stories, experiences and knowledge. I have never done a workaway before (so I have no reviews!) but I am keen to begin my workaway journey. I would love to continue travelling in a more meaningful way, forming more connections and giving back to people.

I have a huge passion for art and design, and I studied textile design at university in Manchester at university. I absolutely love painting (especially murals), and crafting anything with my hands and hosting workshops. I also enjoy cooking, languages, teaching and hiking. I am currently completing a level 5 TEFL Course because I hope to do some teaching.

After university I worked in restaurants, bars and a deli, I really enjoyed working in hospitality and I know how to deliver good service and make a good coffee! I have a big family and I am an auntie to three children aged 4, 2 and 8 months old. I enjoy being around family and playing with the children. I am a hardworking, reliable and easygoing person who throws myself into anything I do!

I am currently completing a TEFL Course with the aim to teach English. I am also intermediate in Italian, I am able to understand a lot of conversations and text, however, I struggle with speaking. I would love to immerse myself in an opportunity where I can learn the language more and be able to confidently converse in Italian.

I feel very fortunate to have stayed with this beautiful family for almost three months! I instantly felt welcomed into the family and I think we were a great match for each other.

Simone and Martina are always up for playing, creating things or making fun performances / dances / gymnastic shows! I always had an entertaining day when staying… read more with them. I was able to use my creativity with the children and help to teach them some English... they also helped with my Italian too! Valeria and Daniele are a wonderful couple, they are both incredibly hardworking, humorous and great cooks. They are busy and have many responsibilities, but they were always available if I needed help, recommendations or advice. I really felt like an elder daughter to them. I was always invited to family outings for Easter, at Nonnas house, Martina's flute concerts and Simone's waterpolo matches, every time was a great memory for me. I also had great fun building a relationship with Russel the dog, who is so cute! He is very friendly and relaxed, I walked him twice a day and this was also a good way to explore Palermo.

I also helped in the hotel sometimes with two amazing and friendly colleagues, I enjoyed my time going there and practicing my Italian with them. Overall my experience with this family was unforgettable. This was my first workaway experience and I'm so glad I did it! The workload is balanced and I had much free time during the mornings and afternoons. The house is beautiful and I had a spacious room and bathroom for myself.

I will remember this family and experience forever and I really hope to see you all again in the future. Thank you for everything and I miss you so much already! Vi voglio bene <3

Mi sento molto fortunata ad essere stata con questa bellissima famiglia per quasi tre mesi! Mi sono sentita subito accolta in famiglia e credo che ci siamo trovati bene l'uno con l'altra.

Simone e Martina sono sempre pronti a giocare, a creare cose o a fare performance divertenti / balli / spettacoli di ginnastica! Ho sempre trascorso una giornata divertente quando sono stata da loro. Ho potuto usare la mia creatività con i bambini e aiutare a insegnare loro un po' di inglese... mi hanno anche aiutato con il mio italiano! Valeria e Daniele sono una coppia meravigliosa, entrambi incredibilmente laboriosi, umoristici e ottimi cuochi. Sono impegnati e hanno molte responsabilità, ma erano sempre disponibili se avevo bisogno di aiuto, raccomandazioni o consigli. Mi sono sentita davvero come una figlia maggiore per loro. Sono sempre stata invitata alle gite di famiglia per Pasqua, a casa di Nonnas, ai concerti di flauto di Martina e alle partite di pallanuoto di Simone: ogni volta è stato un bel ricordo per me. Mi sono anche divertito a costruire un rapporto con il cane Russel, che è così carino! È molto amichevole e rilassato, lo portavo a spasso due volte al giorno e anche questo è stato un buon modo per esplorare Palermo.

A volte ho anche aiutato in albergo con due colleghi fantastici e amichevoli, mi sono divertita ad andare lì e a praticare il mio italiano con loro. Nel complesso la mia esperienza con questa famiglia è stata indimenticabile. È stata la mia prima esperienza di Workaway e sono molto contenta di averla fatta! Il carico di lavoro è equilibrato e ho avuto molto tempo libero durante la mattina e il pomeriggio. La casa è bellissima e avevo una stanza e un bagno spaziosi per me.

Ricorderò per sempre questa famiglia e questa esperienza e spero davvero di rivedervi tutti in futuro. Grazie di tutto e mi mancate già tanto! Vi voglio bene <3
