Description

My name is Mia and I am 22 years old from Goshen, Indiana. I graduated from Goshen
College in 2024 with a degree in Sustainability and a minor in Public Health.

Positive, upbeat, easy-going, kind, calm, athletic, curious, and hard working. These are all words
that would describe me. I am drawn to all types of adventures, but particularly I have an interest in experiences related to sailing, water, hiking, animals, and sustainability. I am motivated by my love for being outside, moving my body, connecting with nature, and creating positive change for the greater good of humanity and the Earth. Happiness is found in spending time with my family and friends - whether it is traveling to new places, eating dinner, playing games, or cooking. Developing relationships is important to me in finding fulfillment. I have so many hobbies: running, sailing, crocheting, horseback riding, playing card games, wakeboarding, and skiing. My experiences growing up, my college degree, my love for the Earth all lead me to want to connect my passions and hobbies to my work.

I will work hard, not complain, and will remain motivated until a job is done. I can take
instructions, lift heavy objects, sail a small boat, cook, clean, and drive a manual
transmission car. I’m not afraid to get wet or dirty when doing a job. I have experience in
Outdoor Education, have been a camp counselor, have given horseback riding lessons, and
been a sailing instructor. I can go out dancing or I can stay home, make friendship
bracelets, or crochet. I can challenge you to a rousing card game of Dutch Blitz or eat
popcorn and watch a movie. I am YMCA Lifeguard certified and have a current CPR and
First Aid certification. I have a degree in Sustainability and Public Health and I care about
the environment as well as the health and well-being of its inhabitants.

While my legal name is Karen, I go by Mia. Growing up on a lake, I learned to sail and race
the sunfish class of boats. I grew up with my parents, one sister, and one brother. For
much of my school years, we did online school which allowed us the opportunities to travel
together on camping and skiing trips. We have horses, cows, and chickens at home.
During college, I was on both the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams.
I was a two time All-American in the 4x800 meter relay and hold six school records. I love
being on a team and working with others to achieve goals.
