Hello !

I'm Océane, a French traveler currently exploring New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa.

After working as a social worker in France, I decided to take a break and discover other ways of living, learning, and working around the world. This is my first long solo trip, and I’m excited to immerse myself in new cultures, meet inspiring people, and develop practical skills through real-life experiences.

I'm curious, adaptable, and eager to learn. I've already done housekeeping work in Ireland and France, and I’ve learned to be efficient, detail-oriented, and reliable. I also love organizing, helping things run smoothly, and I always ask for help when I’m not sure — I believe that communication and teamwork are key.

Through Workaway, I want to improve my English, discover the local lifestyle in New Zealand, and contribute with my energy, care, and French "savoir-faire." I’m especially drawn to quiet, nature-filled places and hosts who enjoy sharing their passions and knowledge. I hope to learn new skills like gardening, eco-building, or even cooking local recipes!

I am a qualified social worker and I work with people with disabilities.
I know how to listen to the needs of others and help vulnerable people in their daily lives.
I also know how to babysit and cook.
My parents have a garden, so I have some knowledge of agriculture, but not enough, so I am curious to learn more. I enjoy artistic activities such as painting, drawing and singing (even if sometimes I sing out of tune, haha).
I have already worked in a hotel which gave me the know-how to work efficiently and discreetly.
