  • Description

The things that mean most to me in my life are family, travel, and music! I highly value human connection and learning about other people, which I believe can be done best through travel and music :) I have played the viola for over 10 years and it brings me so much joy to play and connect with others through music.
I am also a scientist! I will be starting my PhD in the fall so participating in a workaway at this time in my life seems like the perfect move. I would like to do a workaway for about a month and then take some time to see more of Europe and and experience the work before diving into my studies.
I have also really wanted to learn Spanish, and I think living with a family or group of people who speak Spanish fluently will really help me improve my conversational skills! I have been doing my Duolingo practice (lol) but I would like to get real world experience.

  • More details about your skills

I have my bachelors degree in cell and molecular biology with a minor in psychology and have worked in a cancer research lab for almost 2 years. This experience has helped me become a very organized and detail-oriented person. I was also a resident assistant during undergrad and had to form trusting relationships with each of my residents, learn to work as a team with other fellow resident assistants, respond to crisis, and more. English is my native language which I would be excited to help someone else learn. As mentioned, I have played the viola for a long time and have a lot of experience playing and reading music. I would also love to help someone build their musical skills if desired! I have experience working as a babysitter and in customer service, so I have experience working with a variety of different people and caring for them.

  • What else ...

I love spending time outdoors whether it be walking, running, hiking, or just sitting and enjoying my surroundings. I love being able to experience live music such as popular concerts as well as symphony orchestra concerts, jazz shows, and basically everything in between. In my free time I love to explore new cafes and enjoy a latte, I enjoy reading, vegan cooking, and spending time with people I love! I want to scuba dive more and I love trying new things.
