My next destination:
Portugal - from Jun 2025 until Aug 2025 View allDescription
Hi, my name is Rebeka. I am originally from Slovakia but I've lived in the UK for the past 13 years. I went to school and university here and then settled down in Edinburgh with my partner.
I am a software engineer working remotely which allows me to do what I love the most - travelling. In the past two years I did 2 big road trips in the summer in Europe which I really enjoyed.
This year I've decided to do it a bit differently and take a few months off work to travel in Spain and Portugal so that I can try to do some workaways. I will be driving all the way from Scotland so that should be a fun adventure already!
If I'm not walking Mango or working, I play sports. I am a very active person and I do a lot of yoga, tennis and running. I also love hiking, reading and looking after my plants. I speak English, Hungarian, Slovak and Spanish fluently.Interests

I am happy to help with your English. Or if for some reason you want to learn Hungarian or Slovak I can try to teach you a bit but they are my native languages so it's never easy to teach that to others ;) And I'm keen to speak Spanish as I love the language I just haven't spoken it in a while. Years ago I used to live in Mexico where I loved speaking it but then moved back to the UK where I haven't had the chance to use it much.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
I am a hard worker and I will always try to do my best at any given task. I am a very practical person. I grew up on a farm so I have a lot of experience with tasks that need to be done around the house like: chopping wood; clearing and cleaning things; picking/planting/looking after fruit and vegetable plants; gardening like mowing the grass or cutting hedges. We have had lots of farm animals and pets and my dad is a vet so I am very experienced at looking after animals. I have always had a pet and have a Labrador of my own for 5 years now who I love dearly.
But also I am happy to help with any technical issues as I have 5 years of experience as a software engineer.Age

What else ...
I'm a pretty easy going person who loves socialising but I also love my quiet time. I am very tidy and organised. I am hoping to meet nice people on my travels and get to know the countries and cultures better.
Just one thing is that I am travelling with my dog Mango. So hopefully that isn't a problem and you can accommodate us both. She is a very well behaved, friendly and well socialised Labrador so she isn't a bother. Some more information

It was more pet sitting than a workaway as I just had to make sure the horses had food, water and were happy in exchange for accommodation but I still really enjoyed my time there.

Although it was my first experience at a workaway, I think it will be hard to top it. Jonathan, Teresa and their daughter Alicia are very nice people, very caring, easy going and helpful with any questions I had. I really enjoyed spending time with them whenever they came to the finca. They always made lively food… read more
