Hi, I'm Reuben and am always looking for the next adventure (usually very spontaneous!). Two years ago I went on an epic adventure through Europe with just a bike, tent and heaps of spirit and humour! Cycling from London to Montenegro, travelling to Corsica to do the GR20 with friends, working on an Italian farm, and all things jazzy and adventurous in-between! I love meeting new people, experiencing cultures and learning languages. I finished a Master's working to improve hearing technology for deaf people and just finished working part-time as an engineer towards green sustainability projects and part-time as a Teacher Assistant around kids aged between 3-10 years old with a focus in Autism, Special Needs, Behavioural Difficulties and Deafness. Absolutely love the energy of children and always tune into their needs and bring positive energy and all things fun! Currently I'm working as a Bartender at a luxury hotel in Oxford to keep me busy and on my toes!
I am fully deaf in both ears from birth and have recently got cochlear implants which allow me to hear very well in noisy and difficult situations. Like anything, it isn't perfect but it brings me much joy that I'm able to hear all the sounds of world around me much better now. You may just have to shout a little louder over distance to get my attention!
In short, I think three words describe me best: friendly, enthusiastic and hard-working.Interests

I've started learning British Sign Language earlier this year and would be able to teach you lots of signs! In Paris I went to 1000 et 1 Signes, the first fully deaf restaurant, and have started to learn French Sign Language - very interesting how each country has its own sign language which originates from the oral language of the place! I am extremely interested in learning new languages as through these short travels this summer it has shown me that knowing the native language opens the heart of the locals! Since this I've gone to many deaf events in the United Kingdom and France and now fluent in BSL, next is to learn more European oral and their sign languages too!Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
My number one skill is Enthusiasm! I'm always up for taking on challenges and learning new things. Coming from Physics background, I am proficient in mathematics, statistics and programming would be more than happy to tutor in these.
Doing roller and ice hockey growing up has given me skills to continue when things get tough and the importance of working together in a team.
I think my best skills are working with other people and animals as both bring me much joy.Age
