Hello! We're Riko and Jamie ☺️
We are a couple in our late twenties—I'm a Japanese woman, and my partner is a Korean man. We're planning to get married soon, and before that, we’re hoping to broaden our horizons through a unique and exciting experience in New Zealand. We're currently looking for a Workaway or homestay opportunity between July and September :)
We’re both calm, tidy, and open-minded individuals who genuinely enjoy connecting with others. We love nature and animals, and we don’t smoke or use any drugs.
My partner has experience in creative and artistic work, while I’m good at cooking and household tasks. We both enjoy physical work and are enthusiastic about embracing new environments and challenges.
Although we don’t have a car, we’re happy to get around by bus or on foot during our stay.
We can both communicate comfortably in English and truly value cultural exchange and mutual respect.
We’d be delighted to learn and grow in a new environment while building a meaningful connection with our hosts.
Thank you so much, and we look forward to hearing from you! ☺️🍀Languages

When I was studying in the U.S., I worked as a teaching assistant for a Japanese language class at my university. Later, while living in Tokyo, I ran private Japanese conversation classes at Starbucks. I’d be happy to be a conversation partner for anyone wanting to practice Japanese! :) I’m also excited to keep learning more English! It’s my second language, and I’m always looking for ways to improve. Learning foreign languages is a treasure, and I’d love the chance to learn even more languages!Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

Communication:
We have experience working in multicultural teams, and we value not only expressing ourselves clearly, but also listening carefully to understand others' perspectives.
Hospitality:
We’ve worked in customer service roles with a wide variety of people. We genuinely enjoy paying close attention to each individual and thinking about how we can make their stay as comfortable as possible.
Creativity:
We love coming up with ideas! Using our imagination and bringing those ideas to life brings us real joy. Jamie studied art at university, so he’s especially skilled when it comes to anything creative or artistic.Age

What else ...
I’m a calm and positive 29-year-old with a touch of curiosity and openness, like a 3-year-old girl discovering the world, and a love for adventure. I spent my twenties living in the U.S., Canada, and Australia—experiences and friendships I consider treasures.
I've had the opportunity to work in many roles, including as a cafe staff member, hotel/guesthouse staff, English conversation assistant, web designer, tour guide, and Japanese conversation tutor. Now, I've found my passion in translation and blogging, where I've happily settled.
Lately, I’m drawn to a lifestyle connected with nature, mindfulness, healthy eating, and DIY projects, and I’m eager to learn more about them :)
My partner Jamie has a rich imagination and is great at coming up with fun and unique ideas—it’s always a joy to hear what he’s thinking. He’s a quick learner and puts his heart into any task he takes on.
Having lived his whole life in the big city of Seoul, coming to New Zealand helped him discover the beauty and charm of the countryside. After we return home, we’re actually thinking about starting a new life together in a small rural town in Japan :)
I am looking forward to meeting you! Some more information

No task to her was too menial and she put every effort into everything that she did. But more, she made it clear to all around her just what a delight it was merely to be here today.
