Hey there im Tarik!
for the last few years i have been living in Berlin and studying psychology to become a psychotherapist one day. Now, between the bachelors and the masters degree i decided to finally fulfill a dream of mine and go on a longer journey of solo-travelling through southamerica. I have been wanting to travel since i was a teenager so i am very happy and excited for everything thats about to come :). I hope that through workaway, i will be able to explore cultures that i havent been a part of yet, get in touch with people from different places and create new experiences together. Im generally an open-minded person, so learning new things and exchanging views, thoughts and skills definitely motivates me in a lot of aspects of my life. Other then travelling and exploring i enjoy reading almost every day (im always happy about recommendations!), going for a hike or walks in the nature, listen to a lot of music (sadly i cant really play an instrument yet) or do some sport. Especially when it comes to music im always ready for long and nerdy conversations about random background knowledge ;). I also like playing chess and drinking a beer, having discussions, talking about politics or dancing. All in all i am an easygoing-person and i am looking forward to get to know the world, learn from it and share what i already know :)

I am speaking German as a native language and it would be great to share my 25 years of expertise with this beautiful and unique language! Im sure i could make you become a bigger fan of the language then you ever would have thought;) I went to a bilingual class in highschool, so a lot of my subjects were in English and today i am benefitting from that more then i ever would have thought. Without being able to speak this language so well, i would missed out on meeting some of my closest friends, on many great memories outside of Germany and countless other opportunities. The English language definitely opened up doors for me in a lot of ways and i would be happy to share my knowledge and expertise, which i think is a good mix of academic-taught English and daily routine of speaking. Being able to speak the language now, it would be great to share this gift with the world and give something back to others, while im after all not a native speaker and therefore know how hard it can sometimes be to learn English. Although i learned some French in school, i never really put much time in it and therefore im not really good at it. But since i have this great experience with the English language, as mentioned above, i definitely want to learn more languages! At the moment i am focusing on learning Spanish, to better get in touch with the people i meet on my journey and their cultures. It would be great to meet Spanish speaking people that are willing to share some of their knowledge and help me to improve learning their beautiful language. I once read that people that speak multiple languages have slightly different personalities depending on which language they are currently using. I dont exactly know if thats true, but from my own experience i do know that a language and the words used in it can make you relate to your environment in a different way. Teaching and learning languages to and from each other surely is a great gift to me and i hope to find others that are equally excited to do so!

I finished highschool in germany and have a bachelors degree in psychology.
Before studying i helped renovating a house for a year, so i have some experience in things like putting up walls, landscape gardening, painting, carrying around heavy stuff, woodworking, etc.
While studying, the last years i worked in a hospital on a psychosomatic station, mostly making sure that the patients from the station were doing alright, talking to them and being a general support for the team of psychologists and nurses.
I also am part of a self-organized youth center in my hometown, so i have some experience as working as a bartender and hosting events in general.
Thankfully, my mother taught me quite a bit of cooking when i was younger, so i definitely have something to bring to the table there ;) nothing too fancy but i really enjoy cooking so im always happy to help with that!
I fluently speak German and English and would be more than happy to teach others! At the moment i am also learning Spanish everyday so it would be great to have someone to talk to for practicing. I learned French in School but didnt use it in years so i think my skills are only very basic.
I gave a few people haircuts so far and everybody thought i was great but maybe its better if you dont hold me too accountable for it!;)
Im sure theres other things as well, but for now these are the most important ones i think.
