    Descripción

In the mountains of Ecuador, surrounded by mist and birdsong, this project is born — one that not only cultivates the land, but also the soul, in a temperate climate at 2,000 meters above sea level.

I’m Dennis, a survivor of aggressive leukemia. I came very close to death. During my healing journey, I reconnected with what truly matters: family, nature, and forgiveness.

My parents, divorced for many years, chose to come together for something greater than themselves: a farm. Together, the three of us decided to plant the seeds of a new chapter.

My father is an agricultural engineer, my mother a financial engineer, and I work in digital marketing.

All three of us live and work here a space for reconnection, clean production, and openness to the world.

    🐶 Special bonus

We also live with Maxito, a golden retriever who has played a key role in this process. If you love animals, you’ll feel right at home here.

    💬 Why come

This is not a tourist destination. It’s a real place, in transition, full of learning and meaning.
Here, the land heals, unites, and teaches us how to live.
We’d love to share what we’re building with you — and invite you to leave your mark too.

    ___________

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Social activities and cultural exchange

We see every WorkAwayer not just as a helper, but as part of our story.
You’ll share moments with our small but unique family — a father passionate about the land, a mother who found peace in the countryside, and me, a cancer survivor who believes in new beginnings.

We enjoy walking through the crops, sharing coffee around the fire, or just listening to stories under the stars.
You may also have the chance to connect with nearby farmers and neighbors in the area — simple people with deep hearts and strong hands.

🎓 Skills and knowledge we can share

We’re happy to share everything we know.
    You can learn about:
    • Agroecological farming and crop rotation
    • Berries cultivation
    • Marketing, photography and digital storytelling
    • Ecuadorian songs in the guitar with my father

And of course, life lessons from people who have lived through hardship, healed, and decided to start again — together.

🌍 What we hope to learn

Hosting people from different cultures is a gift.
    We want to learn:
    • New ways of seeing the world
    • Languages, music, and ideas from faraway places
    • How others live simply — or bravely
    • And how to be better humans by opening our hearts to those who visit us

Every person who comes here helps us grow — not just as a farm, but as a family.

  • Algo más...

    Algo más...

Our farm is located in Sandalán Bajo, part of the San Miguel canton in Bolívar province, Ecuador.
We’re about 15 minutes by car from the main interprovincial road, which connects major cities like Guayaquil and Quito.

There’s no regular public bus service directly to the farm, but there is a local rural transport called “La Ranchera”.
It departs from the farm area at 5:00 AM, heading toward Las Guardias, where you’ll find the main highway with buses connecting to Quito, Guayaquil, and other cities.
La Ranchera returns around 3:00 PM and departs again at 5:00 PM, making it a useful option for arriving at or leaving the farm.

We also have two vehicles and can occasionally pick you up or drop you off when needed. Additionally, the local neighbors are kind and helpful — if they’re heading out, they might offer you a ride too.

Surrounded by lush maize fields and peaceful countryside, this place is ideal if you love mountain landscapes, fresh air, and walking through nature.
Just 20 minutes away by car, you’ll find the Cerritos waterfall, a beautiful hidden gem perfect for relaxing and exploring.

🌐 Internet & Connectivity We have Starlink satellite internet at the farm, which generally works well for messaging, browsing, and even video calls. However, because we are in a cloudy mountain region, the connection may slow down at certain times of the day. There is also mobile data coverage in the area, depending on your provider, but it’s always a good idea to download offline maps or important info before arriving — just in case.

We have plenty of open, flat space perfect for pitching a tent or parking a campervan. You’ll be surrounded by trees, mountains, and peace — with access to potable water, electricity (110V & 220V), and a shared bathroom. If you’re traveling in a van, you’ll have enough room to park safely and enjoy your stay with us. We can also offer a simple outdoor cooking area, and you’re welcome to join us for meals.

🐾 Pets Welcome We’re happy to welcome dogs, cats, or other small animals as part of your journey. Ideally, your pet should be fully vaccinated, but if it’s a rescued animal and still missing some vaccines, just let us know in advance — we’ll figure out how to help and keep everyone safe. We have a young golden retriever named Max, who is very friendly and playful, so your pet will likely have a new friend waiting!
