Hi folks, I’m Mike
I’m a easy-going, open-minded person who have a passion for cooking, food, eco-friendly projects, the outdoors, the ocean and sports.
Im a Mexican chef that owns a small family farm in the middle of the city, I founded this project in 2012 and since then I ve ben sharing the knowledge about oaxaca and Mexican cuisine,
Now I need to expand the orisons and reach more people to come, and at this time our place requires some help with advertising and social marketing and knowledge about design and squarespace uses.

Oaxaca is a beautiful place with a lot of culture around.
There is a great deal to see in and around the city, also Oaxaca has arguably the best cuisine in Latin America.
For sure I can teach you how to cook some Oaxacan traditional meals to enjoy and in a future, and you can cook it at home or wherever you be. There are also a plethora of craft villages, several top notch Zapotec and Mixtec (pre-Hispanic) ruins, colonial churches, great restaurants, and language institutes for learning Spanish, a wonderful central square (zócalo), Old World charm, tons of delicious street food, restaurants, and dance salsa, merengue and cumbia, etc, etc, etc.
Or, if you are into the sports you can join me to training at the pool, the track, the climbing gym or the mountain. There are tons of activities to do around.

Hi folks!
Before anything, we have to say "Thank you so much to all the previous workawayers who helped us to create, improve, and make the little farm a better place. Now, it is time to evolve. So, we need volunteers who can stay at least for 1 or 2 weeks. The idea of this is to have someone to help us to improve the web site, google, Facebook ads and everything related to social media to reach more audice and guests
We also need people who are talented in marketing and communication to help with advertising this place- Website designers, social media marketers and proper knowledge on squarespace etc. etc.
The farm is an on going especially with organic growing/spin farming/ permaculture/ animals etc. we have 2 pigs, 4 goats, lots of chickens, 10 ducks, 6 rabbit, 1 donkey and family is allways is growing..

if is in you r interest, As well as this, there is always routine work to do on the little farm e.g. looking after the animals, landscaping, weeding, harvesting, etc. Everything depends on the season and all of this is in a small production. (sometimes starting form scratch)
With some of the products that we collect, we can cook some jam, just eat them or use them for the cooking classes when it is needed. we also have 5 dogs, 2 cats.
but basically we need more help with advertising

We are offering a small shared rustic cabin with a single mattress bunk bed, with electricity, simple shower with a wood water heater and 2 flush toilets. an outdoor kitchen and bar so you can have your own kitchen with a fridge and 2 burners stove for your own use.
We're located 15/25 minutes away from Oaxaca down town depending what time you are moving, or 10 to 15 minutes by bicycle.
The bus stop is 3 minutes walking, market, supermarket, mini-stores and laundry 3 minutes walking, basically you can find everything that you need in less than 250m around.
2 meals for the day:
1.- quesadillas and coffee early in the morning to start the day,
2.- a nice meal with the rest of the team around 3-4pm
The place is a small ranch, it is an oasis in the middle of the city.

There are tons of activities to do around. We have a little bit of something for everyone. If you are into cultural activities, learning Spanish or practicing your English, dancing, museums, restaurants, galleries, outdoor sports, cooking or just having a cool experience you will love it. Especially if you like or are in to climbing, swimming, running, mountain biking, exploring and traveling around. Oaxaca is surrounded by amazing mountains...We are sure you're gonna love it.

in the main house we have 300 up and 300 down normally strange when internet fails but normally pretty stable, second connection is 75 up 75 download and extra routers stable conection 50 up 75 download all over the property

Now he’s part of the house and the family’s estate a safe trip and Oaxaca allways will be your house
She took on every task with enthusiasm, from cleaning the chicken coop, to building the yoga space, to helping with cooking classes, to designing a plan for the farm.
Everything task Taylor was involved in was completed to a really high standard and we really valued her contribution to the project.

I was able to help with building a deck out of wood, which will later serve for yoga classes and healing sessions and planning out the edible garden/farm for when it is fully up & running.

They were super friendly and relaxed but also showed real team spirit and worked hard on the projects. During their short time on our farm, they managed to complete a greenhouse, a small bar area and did great work enriching our soil.

I spend 3 weeks with Miguel an Thomas. I gone to the sport with them, we made some parties and a beautifull visit of Hierve el Agua !
Miguel has teached us to cooking some mexican dishes. And I made a lot of gardening !
